Looking really good, Far better than the Revell Merc! Interesting you would have needed to add to roof length, I never ran into that issue. Here is a pic of mine (shelved for now) I actually used the Revell Merc rear quarter window opening on the chop.

I'll put it on the radar. Right now working on a custom '49 Ford

I may chop another Merc and make a build post on the chop.

Back on the bench. Working on the Lakes exhaust and pinning for fitment. If there is clearance I’ll add a cross over pipe at the trans mount. Very fiddly but the outcome should be acceptable.

Also added a spear to the body line.

Temperatures here have been brutally cold so painting in the garage is not an option. I did get everything primed and put a basic interior together. Once it’s installed you really can’t see much detail anyway.

Also did a test shot of a faded look using clear red/blue over light and dark base metallic. I have a clear Orange I might try as well.

After some more test shots I settled on Tamiya Pink Pearl base and Clear Orange top coat. This is before any clear or polish. Time to let it cure….IMG_9064.jpeg.1d06cc0e2fb7fea0b1cf7383c752dc9d.jpegIMG_9063.jpeg.e552d4d2f8ed53b20db4cc6a6806647c.jpegIMG_9062.thumb.jpeg.f032ea55ad7e8fd47eac8b8c672b4ac9.jpeg

Very nice. I have 2 AMT kits going and a Revell one sitting idle.

For the resin one, I'm waiting for some 3D side pipes. But that is moving forward.

I also have a resin '51 to do, that is made for the Revell kit.

Great choice on the color, it will look amazing with some clear over it

This is really starting to come together Rooster.  That clear orange laid down really nice over that Pink Pearl base.  Those wheels and tires are really going to make that color pop.

Hi Rooster, I’m a little late to the party here, lots of great stuff happening! Very nice chop job, I like the sloped B pillars. Good choice not to get too fussy with the interior, as will indeed be hard to see in there. Great colour too!
