THarrison351 Posted November 10, 2024 Posted November 10, 2024 My next to last JoHan model I have left to build. The Chrysler Turbine is to be built some day. I've had this kit since the eighties and started it in that decade. All it needed was some fine tuning and paint. I'd even acquired a set of Fred Cady decals so I could do the less seen "B" paint scheme. Now, technically this is not a true 1969 SC/Rambler. JoHan cheated and used their 1966 Rambler American tooling and added a few parts and decals to make it look like The SC/Rambler. I modded a couple of things myself, but didn't try to go to super detail. The trunk lid will open, but nothing is to be seen. Some plug wiring, a different master cylinder with a booster, and side markers. The rest is just paint. Mostly Tamiya. Easy to build, because it was almost done and I can't remember what it was like in the eighties. So, thanks for looking! 19
espo Posted November 10, 2024 Posted November 10, 2024 Great looking paint and trim. What I can see of the interior it looks like is well done as well.
karbuildr Posted November 10, 2024 Posted November 10, 2024 I always liked the “B” scheme better on these cars. Your build is very well done and nice to see one of these kits built. Good job.
Leica007 Posted November 11, 2024 Posted November 11, 2024 Always liked this car, wished I could have one. Your build is beautifully done and looks great.
Old Buckaroo Posted November 11, 2024 Posted November 11, 2024 One of my favorite manufactures, wish Id bought more Johan kits when they were still on the shelves. You've really done a fine job on this one, are the hood pins BMF or other? They really stand out and look just right.
Falcon Ranchero Posted November 11, 2024 Posted November 11, 2024 Wow that’s awesome; curse you JoHan for not being around anymore
ncbuckeye67 Posted November 11, 2024 Posted November 11, 2024 That is beautiful! I too, like this paint scheme better. I just wish I would have held on to more of my old Johan kits....
Maindrian Pace Posted November 12, 2024 Posted November 12, 2024 Mighty fine, I have a rebuilder and the decals to make one, and I always preferred the B scheme paint on these. Very nice job.
Ken Car-Fanatic Posted November 12, 2024 Posted November 12, 2024 Very nice. I'm happy to see this one because I always wanted this kit back in the 80's when I was young but never got it. I now have a re-issue Jo-Han did without the SC/Hurst decals-paint scheme, but I did pick up some of the Fred Caddy SC/Hurst decals. There's something about this car I've always liked & you made it look really good!
dragsterguy Posted November 12, 2024 Posted November 12, 2024 Nice work! Really captures the look of the car. Man! Those were the days!

Never had any idea they would completely disappear. Yes, BMF. On 11/10/2024 at 11:57 PM, bondo bill said: sweet build Thanks! On 11/11/2024 at 5:53 AM, ChrisR said: Very nice. Thank you! TooOld Posted November 13, 2024 Posted November 13, 2024 Sharp looking SC/Rambler , especially in that paint scheme ! Great job Tim !
Ragtop Man Posted November 13, 2024 Posted November 13, 2024 Kevin Lutz, to the Big Bad Blue courtesy phone please!! Check this build out, it really sings.
Bainford Posted November 13, 2024 Posted November 13, 2024 Good looking Rambler. Always preferred the 'B' scheme. Nice work.
TarheelRick Posted November 13, 2024 Posted November 13, 2024 Excellent work on this SC/Rambler. Also partial to this paint scheme, although the one I built is the A scheme. Tried to do the B scheme but the decals I had rolled over on the long side pieces. Also had trouble with the A decals folding under on themselves, so I masked and painted the A scheme. I really like the arrow on the hood.
