Wonderful detailing Pierre...really like the wrapped steering wheel and the dash is spot on !

Thanks Bruce. The whole interior has come together well and for a rare occasion without any hurdles. Pretty much the way I was hoping for.

The wrapped steering wheel is the icing on the cake !

It is. I did not really plan for everything on this build, making some decisions as I went but the idea of wrapping the wheel I had right from the start. It just took a while to develop a way of doing it.

Nice work, Pierre!  This project is coming to fruition.

Just a quick tip - dip the thread in watered down white glue to avoid the fuzzy look.  You could still try applying white glue to the steering wheel at this point as well.

Superb suggestion Ken. I applied the mix slowly with a small brush over the roped areas. Fuzzies gone. Thank you for pointing me in the right direction here.

The thread really came through for you on the steering wheel. You had the skill to pull it off. I've used thread before for window nets but always had fits working with it. You have definitely tamed the frizzies. Kens tip about the glue was really good and something I wished I had used on my current build for the hoses. I guess I could always go back and try again. I think I made them too big anyway.

Striking amount of detail in your engine compartment, Pierre and just a wonderful job on the interior and steering wheel especially!

I’m sitting here with the Daytona 500 on and just read through eight full pages of this build thread!  How on earth I never looked at this thread before, I have no idea. 🤷‍♂️  Pierre, there is literally nothing that I can add to what has already been said.  This is just so doggone impressive!  Thank you for sharing this work of art with us mere mortals. Holy smokes!

Pierre, your work is just so "real'. It never looks like a Model. More Like a Wingrove Miniature!

Fantastic, Jaw Dropping Craftsmanship.

Good Show.

If we didn't have this superb WIP thread in here and didn't know what the kit is like if built box stock, there would be no way to tell how much stuff has been scratchbuilt or modified on this beautiful build, because everything looks so great. With that said, it's always really nice to see an update on this project, you're doing a fantastic job with it.

Even though I'm completely on another skill level (way behind  ), threads like this keep me motivated to try out new techniques and add some new details on my builds.

Ken's advice made a big difference. Pictures may not show it well but it now looks like scaled down rope.

Thank you Brian. Lot's of work went into that one. I'm happy I started with the engine. I doubt I would have had the patience to do it on the back end of the build.

Thank you John. I've learned a lot by following builds from you and other masters.

This is the highest possible compliment. If I could achieve 10% of what Gerald Wimgrove created I would be very very happy!

Thank you so much Niko. This has been a really fun build. The following update will be the last. I just finished this one.

This is it, the last of this build. I thinned as much as possible the windshield frame and replaced the kit glass with 0.5 mm clear Evergreen. Makes the glass look more in scale. Finally the hood strap made from masking tape and Tamiya weathering paste to replicate leather.

This one is done. Full set of photos under glass later today.

Pierre, that hold down belt is off the charts. If this build doesn't look like a race car MB SSK nothing ever will. It just exudes speed and performance. Another in your long list of extremely Awesome builds.  Give us a link when she's over at Underglass.

Pierre, this is great - you never cease to amaze me ! I have tried to imitate your leatherstraps with my 550 Spyder, but could not manage to replicate those belt buckles as you do.
