Since the weather outlook for the next week looks bad for painting I thought I'd crack open the 37.  I printed out a BBC with Cross Air Intake for this build but I found out pretty quick that It's just to Big for the business end in the 37.  I'm going with the BBC but with a single Holly 780 dual pump carb.  I still had to modify the firewall due to the heads hitting.

Remember on the 1:1 Fords of that era, anything much bigger than a flathead and you were going to have to build a new firewall anyway. Like how the BBC just does fit here.

Thanks.  I found a big enough shoehorn.

Tha intake would have been cool, you've got some space restrictions with the big block. Looking forward to see how the radiator works out,  gonna be tight. Looking good 👍

Thanks man.  Yeah, I'm still thinking about the cross air intake.  I've already trial fitted the radiator and it's fine.

Could you make it fit by sliding the engine back a bit?

Of course you would need to notch the firewall more too but I think it would be worth it.

Don't compromise your vision.👍

Great start on this one, things started to look good already!

Thanks.  It's still early in the game.  Lot of head scratching still going on.

Was it hitting the hood or firewall? You can always set it lower in the chassis. Then you'd have to be mindful of those pesky shelf speed bumps.

Hood clearance is fine and the crank pulley is just setting above the cross member.  The engine would need to go back a pretty good ways as to not enterfer with the hood side panels.  I'm going to take another look at it today.

Thanks Greg.  It's a tight fit.

I cut out a lot of the stock firewall and added in a piece that's further back.  The trial fit looks really good.  I filled in the firewall with some mud and tomorrow I'll sand it down.

Cool! That orange plastic sure brings back some memories.

Thanks.  Yeah, the old kits came in a multitude of colors didn't they.  I've seen orange, blue, black, etc.

Looking good Bob. I built one years ago and they do come out good. Nice start with the (very) BBC. The one I built I scraped away inside of the hood side panels and opened up the vents so you could see into the engine bay. A nice way to show off your multi-carb VBBC

Great looking 572 Zippi you will have power to spare!

Thanks Carl.  Yup, I'll be making so much power I think I'll try and sell it back to Chevrolet 😁

I appreciate it man.  Yeah, the 37 Fords have a Great body style and I searched the interweb looking at a lot of pics for colors and I think the Tamiya TS-11 Maroon Lacquer should look nice.

Good colour choice for an early Rod

Thanks.  I've seen this color on cars at the car shows we go to.  I like it for these old body styles.

Thanks Ken.  Haha...looks like I'll have to double up on the temperature check on the next video.
