I had a good day so thought I'd better get after it and throw some paint on the 37.  Paint is Tamiya Maroon.  I'll let this set for a few days and then airbrush some Splash Paints 2K Clear over it.  I'm really pleased with how the paint laid down.

It's nice when all of the elements, stars, conditions align for paints to go down like that. Nice work Bob!

Real nice Cassis and beautiful color choice, Zippi!

Thanks Carl.  The chassis went together Great with a few mods and the paint turned out nice.

I got some paint on the interior ( Satin Charcoal Grey ) and got the glass installed in the headlight buckets.  After this drys I'll need to hit the rear speakers with some black for the base and silver for the mesh.  I'll use a Molotow Chrome Pen for the door and window cranks on the door panels.

Love the Maroon Bob, looking great!

Thanks Roger.  That good ole Splash Paints 2K Clear will really make it pop.

I'm going to shoot the 2K Clear on tomorrow so I thought I'd better check out the paint for any issues.  I've had this happen before with red paint but didn't see this when I painted the body.  The didn't seem to get down in the gaps or it pulled away.  Boy oh boy...it's got me worried now.  I'm hoping the black panel liner will cover it up.

I got the door panels painted and chromed the door & window cranks and the door pulls.  I also got the rear speakers painted and the body has been shot with 2K Clear.

The interior looks sweet. Is that Molotow or BMF on the door handles & window cranks?

Thanks DJ.  It is Molotow chrome.

Great looking paint finish, and like the color as well. Interior detailing is cleanly done.

Engine... chassis... interior... spectacular work on this Bob!

I was admiring that fabulous looking paintjob and remembering some of the difficulties you had with paint a while back. What a tremendous improvement you've made from those days, eh?
