You never know what you'll see at the Subaru dealer. According to the salesperson, this 2022 BMW M4 Competition was traded in for a 2025 Subaru Outback.

You've got to be kidding. I'd ask for the full story behind that trade. Oh, I noticed some snow in the background, that maybe the answer.

BMW lost me when their stylists decided to go for the notchy-corners on the iconic double kidney-bean grille.

Just sayin'...as they say.  :)

I'm pretty sure the snow we get here in Syracuse might be part of the reason for the trade.  The car only has 15000 miles (~24140km), and can be yours for the low price of $79,000.

I agree with you on the grill as I'm not a fan either.  I much prefer the look of the BMW M8 to the M4.

I found this car listed for sale online, unless more than one Subaru dealer in Syracuse has one. It is an xDrive M4 Competition, so it is AWD, but not with great road clearance.

It has already had 3 owners per CarFax. It has 15K miles (low), not 1500.

That said, I worked at two Ford dealerships in the late 1980s and early 1990s. Being close to Tahoe, you guys would be surprised at what "toys" we received as trade ins on Eddie Bauer Explorers and Broncos because someone needed a "practical" snow vehicle to visit the million dollar+ cabin in the winter. More Porsches than you can shake a stick at, Corvettes, a near new 93 Mustang Cobra, and various other things that looked weird sitting next to previous daily rental Taurus and Tempos on the used car lot.

@Rodent There are a couple of Subaru dealers in Syracuse, but this one is a Bill Rapp Subaru.  I must have misheard the salesperson when she mentioned the mileage.

Ya, that is the one I found. I absolutely am not slamming you, I (having known a lot of car salespersons, good and bad) attributed it to the salesperson spouting half-truths.

Looks like someone got married and/or put one in the oven...

Exactly what I was thinking, not an ideal car for a lady in delivery out of.  My brother took his girlfriend in labor to the hospital in a 76 Corvette..

I really enjoy seeing this brand of car, but they kind of started getting away from themselves around the e46 or so..... One of my favorite cars ever would be an e38 7 series!

We used to call that "Diarrhea of the Larynx" at a dealership I used to work at long ago.

Update on the BMW.  While I was at the dealership this afternoon finishing up the DMV for my son's Forester, the BMW was sold to an exotic car wholesaler out of Rochester.  I was sitting in the office right beside the car, and the started it up.  A little shocking.  Sounded like a lot of vibration from the exhaust, but I supposed that's what it's supposed to sound like. Guy was going to drive it back to Rochester.

And so ends the Saga of the BMW.
