happy grumpy Posted March 11 Posted March 11 What can I say, I'm a big fan of the 68-70 Charger. Had this kit for a while, almost forgot about it. I did no know what color I wanted it so I left it on the shelve and ,a few weeks ago, I was looking at cars on the google machine and I stumbled on a photo of a Daytona that had this color and , well , there you have it. A really nice kit to build, though you have to be careful with the front end, a lot of dry fit is in order. The color is a mix of Tamiya acrylics, namely metallic brown , copper and a bit of clear red. Coated with TS13. Tamiya sprays are now banned in Canada, so I am switching to Mr color super gloss and it does the same job as Tamiya so, kind of relieved. I also tried the acrylic gloss water base spray from the same brand and I just love it. Same results as TS13 but no odor, dries just as fast. As always wishing you well and thanks for looking. 19 2
TransAmMike Posted March 11 Posted March 11 Well Mario, as with all your builds it looks perfect. Great color!! 👍👍 1
AMT68 Posted March 11 Posted March 11 Great looking Charger Mario and that blended color looks super.
Badge73 Posted March 11 Posted March 11 Mario, this thing looks great! I really like the wheels and rims, I know their very basic considering the rest of the build, but I love realism. Also, do you have any appointments open for today at the Express Lane oil change service?
Falcon Ranchero Posted March 11 Posted March 11 Really like your Daytona; I built AMT's version; a little tricky also 2
mustang1989 Posted March 11 Posted March 11 These Chargers look just great with those "steelies" on them Mario and this one is no exception. Color and detailing bring out the best in this model. Some good work here buddy.
karbuildr Posted March 11 Posted March 11 Excellent build. Really like that color you chose. The first photo in the series I thought I was looking at a real car. Very well done.
Dragonhawk1066 Posted March 11 Posted March 11 Awesome looking Daytona! Beautiful color and excellent paint job!
Rattlecan Dan Posted March 12 Posted March 12 Dazzled us all with that color. Very nice-looking build.

Those car were destined to budget average joe who wanted raw power and no frills. Not to say that a nice set of wheels did not look good on them but I like the look of matching paint on the steelies. Belugawrx Posted March 13 Posted March 13 Really nice finish on there Mario. I had no idea Tamiya sprays were banned here.. The first time I saw one of these in person, I was about 9 - 10 yrs old ('71 - '72)...it was orange with a white tail that was way over my head. Looked so out of place sitting on St. Paul St. I thought it was an alien ship....lol 1
XYHARRY Posted March 19 Posted March 19 Really smooth finish on your Daytona there Mario, really well done. Cheers, David. 😎👍 1
