First build of the year, I’m taking the AMT 59 Cadillac Ambulance kit and converting it into a Nomad. Lots of cutting, sanding and puttying. First time trying to modify a kit this drastically.
I opened the wheel wells to fit larger tires, I then cut approximately 3/4” out of the body and chassis. It came out pretty straight. I’ll have to wait until the weather gets a little warmer to start the putty and sanding.IMG_8231.jpeg.492a06d9d3efa5a988ff09e4d0297281.jpegIMG_8232.jpeg.cc0ccefdf990ccec2b4168f5d8e411c7.jpegIMG_8233.jpeg.c54d07cf594eebd2940abb549f8c7e1b.jpegIMG_8234.jpeg.6abcbdcccbb6963d1bda65bfe3e76b7f.jpegIMG_8235.jpeg.b954c04438a426ef7a97c1a2cf4d07af.jpegIMG_8236.jpeg.b2bf27e7465de331cacf997089cec4c5.jpegIMG_8237.jpeg.7d778278669c285822a381bfdb4705b9.jpegIMG_8238.jpeg.e44cf5b3e5c64cad50554a74e92153e9.jpegIMG_8239.jpeg.0a60ae3a7b9433b5e1c11090e0ee2342.jpeg

Really good start, I will for sure keep following this build. You may have to cut the gurney in half as well! Hahaha

This is a really cool idea. What's the plan, gasser wagon ?

Not sure yet

Maybe gasser, maybe hot rod.

Finally got some warm weather. Filed the rough edges, cut the interior tub and glass, glued in the rear section of glass, glued the body together and the chassis, glued styrene onto the glass to give it a panel look… next step, putty.IMG_8268.jpeg.85eec4b7bcc06c3b48574f20610d7bc8.jpegIMG_8270.jpeg.43fc6cf1a2bf9d2fcc2eb3b870cb53cc.jpegIMG_8271.jpeg.830e4899edec7aff7f53608542db001a.jpegIMG_8272.jpeg.0f42efb4204c115ec2a1211f3dc1826f.jpegIMG_8273.jpeg.48d2cd16f021694e044f23b7a8c44326.jpeg

First round of putty and sanding completed. A light coat of primer shows me the spots that need a redo. However, the vigorous sanding seemed to have activated my kidney stones, been out of commission for a week.IMG_8278.jpeg.5b6ac090e5c8dc2fdd1165aa46b116ec.jpeg

That's a Great looking project.  I'll tag along and see what direction you go with it.

Third round of putty/sanding/primer is complete. Still some imperfections but good enough for me. A coat of matte black and now I’ll have to wait a few days before applying tape and another color.

Masked it, sprayed purple, unmasked. Didn’t turn out like I imagined. Think I’ll sand it down and try again with a solid color. I’ll leave spider webs to the spiders. 🕷️ IMG_8284.jpeg.3296d5b1c134e996c2749dd0646b49a3.jpegIMG_8286.jpeg.9215ba18928cecf9b4007e935df468c6.jpegIMG_8288.jpeg.d4dfe36da967d4878704446b4c0d40ab.jpeg

Black with some very fine purple webbing could work if you want to stick with the spider motif?
