"Thermal mass" like that stone wall, and other "passive" heat managing techniques (like light-colored roofs) could have easily been applied to any house ever built, and could have already saved millions of barrels of oil, millions of tons of coal, and millions of tons of CO2 dumped into the atmosphere...not to mention probably trillions of dollars paid out for stupidly wasted energy.

But no. Why? Because humans really aren't too bright as a whole, and rarely think very far ahead.

It's sunny 75F and 46% humidity, with a slight breeze.  Feels warmer.  Went out at 4 to run an errand.  A black car w/ black leather interior gets really warm sitting outside on such a day...
