In the bottom right corner of the reply you can click on "Other Media" then click "insert image from URL".  That's how I inserted my pics a few mins ago.

How do I go about freeing up space for my attachments. I can't find how to do it .

There is an entire thread about the ongoing effort to fix this latest glitch.

Which, of course, doesn't work if the photo you link to isn't hosted somewhere else on the web.

We USED to be able to post photos directly from our own devices (for the past few years), and the fact that that is no longer an option (an unintended glitch), as well as new upload limits intended to conserve server space on THIS SITE, is the subject of the thread I linked to above.

I hear ya Bill.  I store my pics on  Google Photos as they provide 15 GB of storage for FREE.  It used to be unlimited but that ended on June 1,2021.  Times are a changing.

Question, if we delete pics from "My Attachments" in our profile will they also be deleted from out threads?

Geez...y'all don't need to be in a rush to be deleting stuff.

Some fixes are in the works to get the storage and upload functions back to normal.

Calm down.

Funny thing, when I came on here this morning to post the photos of my 1963 Chevy Nova wagon and saw the photo issue there, I thought it had something to do with the fact that I had accidentally left my computer in my mom’s vehicle overnight in minus fifteen degrees Celsius and had screwed up a bunch of things from it being in the cold for some 12 hours LOL

This points out how long it's been since I've posted any photos. I keep meaning to share some pics of models but haven't so now I guess I need to do it a different way. I don't have my pictures available anywhere else other than my computer.

It's fixed. You can post the old way again.

Read through both threads for all the gory details.

Apparently on iPhones and iPads you can go into the camera settings and change the format from most compatible (JPEG) to high efficiency image container (HEIC). The image quality is better and the files are less than half the size. Also, delete the photos from any post that you quote unless it is specifically pertinent to your reply. Every bit helps.

I suspect that it doesn't make any difference if you delete the photos from a post you quote. I often do that myself as well as any text that isn't pertinent to my response to aid in clarity. But you are not actually uploading those photos again. The original pic is still being used in your reply. If you look at the file name of a photo in a quote you will see it is the same as the name of the photo in the original post. If it was a second copy of the same photo the name would be different, most likely name(1).jpg for example.

I don’t know how you could free up space you can't delete pictures after a few weeks… I don’t have my pictures on a website to get an image code…
