Just wrapped up my Shirley Muldowney "Bounty Huntress" Mustang. Built from the MPC kit, with a few modifications to better match the look of the car in Heart Like a Wheel. It's only my second funny car, but I'll definitely be trying another one. A full writeup of the build is available here, and as always any comments/criticisms welcome!

That’s really nice with the perfect stance!  Those MPC kits certainly aren’t perfect!  For your next FC, I’d suggest one of Revell’s early/mid 70s FC kits - such as the Vega kit you took the injectors from. The rear axle needs to be dropped a bit on those to lower the rear, but they build up nicely. Also, if you can find a Revell Hawaiian Charger or Chi Town Hustler (those have 1970 Charger bodies) from 2010 or so at a reasonable price, they are excellent, modern kits.

Beautiful build! Sharp clean detail, very nice! Those hood decals had to be a bear to get to lay down on the scoops……

Thanks for the tip! I would like to do a 2nd-gen Charger, so I'll keep an eyye out for the Hawaiian or Chi Town Hustler...NNL East is this weekend, maybe I'll have some luck in the hunt.

Round2 helped by making the triangular tips as separate decals, but getting everything lined up was still some work. Lots of Micro Sol/Micro Set to get everything laid down, and a little custom mixed paint to touch up the inevitable gaps.

That turned out really nice Bill.  Super sharp looking and that was a Bad ride back in the day.

Just an awesome build Bill!  Read your build write-up and there is so much you did to get it to look so great.  The stance is the first thing I noticed since so many of these funny car kits are way off.  Fit and finish is fantastic!
