Jonathan Posted July 28 Posted July 28 Thoughts? Best I can tell from the images at the Revell/Carrera it appears that this release is the same as the last one that had S-10 body and interior with the GMC Syclone drive train. (The company name is still strange to me, I tend to keep thinking Revell, Monogram, and Revell/Monogram. Anyway ....) Has anyone grabbed one of these yet?
Zen Posted July 29 Posted July 29 At $60 I think I might pass on this version........ 1991 Chevy S10 Lowrider w/Small Die Cast Truck 1/25 Revell 2 2
Jordan White Posted July 29 Posted July 29 Based on the box, it looks like they plan to have more duo packs in the future. Even with the extra diecast, I agree that the price is way too high, especially not being the 3n1 version.
stitchdup Posted July 29 Posted July 29 does it actually build as the box art? the built up lacks the body kit 1
Beans Posted July 29 Posted July 29 Is it me, or does the picture of the 1/64 truck look like a resized photo of the model with a couple of pieces missing? Not that it matters, just a weird observation from my weird brain. 1

stavanzer Posted July 30 Posted July 30 I hope the Waverider Grill makes it into the kit as an option. I don't think it will, but I can hope......
Radretireddad Posted July 30 Posted July 30 (edited) I’ve got a complete, unstarted S10 waverider kit that I have no idea why I bought it or what to do with it. I must have been a little too into the ‘90’s sport truck trend at the time because now I think it’s pretty ridiculous looking. I’m suddenly thinking about maybe combining it with the Syclone parts in the current S10 reissue to make a wacky west coast style 11 second customized matching tow vehicle for the waverider jet ski that came in the Silverado kit set I have. Showing a $69.95 MSRP and a selling price of $49.95. Why?! It’s just a kit and 1/64 diecast. No thanks.
RickRollerLT1 Posted Monday at 10:51 PM Posted Monday at 10:51 PM So i decided to take the plunge on dis and the 85 Fiero since they may not be out for very long like the Lincoln pro street and fetch prices hogher than srp (yep, $64.99 for the S 10 being the most spent on a new kit, still way too high even woht the reissued die cast s 10 included). So on to the s-10. Its contents are same as the last issue, meaning GMC Syclone turbo motor and 4wd setup. It has all the lowrider and waverider parts included this time around even the bumper and side skirts. It even has the single carb and air cleaner setup which was meant for the non turbo setup on the 2000 issue. There is a slight warpage issue on the cab, mostly fixable and not nearly as bad as the Moebuis/Model King Ford ramp truck, but for the price point and considering tarifs and such there should be better QC and this also goes for Round 2. Ive built several of these and the Syclone in the past, great kits overall! At least this issue brings down prices of the 2000 lowrider release a bit as well. 1

So to confirm, does it have both grilles in the kit?
RickRollerLT1 Posted Tuesday at 08:38 PM Posted Tuesday at 08:38 PM (edited) Upon further exmination after contents viewing i noticed its still missing the stock intake manifold/air cleaner/headers (it has the custom waverider manifold and air cleaner) and the optional "Cameo" front bumper (which was not correct for a 92-93 and more like some sort of phantom part, as that option was only offered on the 89-91 style grille with additional side skirts and rear roll pan). RickRollerLT1 Posted Tuesday at 08:52 PM Posted Tuesday at 08:52 PM Another thing to mention is a semi stock RWD config can be made using the lowrider front suspension and making new spindles to increase the ride height. Non turbo headers, air cleaner and stock exhaust one would have to come up with. 1
