LOBBS Posted 16 hours ago Posted 16 hours ago (edited) I don't mind a financial support option (and I'll admit that I use an ad-blocker) to help others not have to see ads. I dip in and out of the hobby for stretches based on what's going on in my day to day. That being said, I also have a gym membership that I pay for each month and also dip out on for stretches so I'm sometimes just free money 😅 My biggest frustration is with the search function especially when I'm on mobile. It seems to only search within the area you're in when on desktop, which is fine, but it'll pull from the whole site when I try and search on mobile for some reason Edited 16 hours ago by LOBBS

I think it defaults to "This Topic" when doing a search. You can change that before you search and we are looking to see if we can change the default. On mobile (iPhone) there are additional options when you click the search icon.

An idea thats been tickling the back of my head is to set up challenges between ourselves and other forums for bragging rights as i'd really like to see this place become a hub for all the model forums to really build up a strong modeling community. Remember the big MPC contests and stuff that used to happen back in the golden years of the hobby, and be covered by the magazines back then? I would LOVE to see the magazine revive that concept. Simple concept, low input required by the staff or the magazine…here’s my idea… A dedicated forum for the official Model Cars Mag annual contest. The theme is picked by the magazine, possibly with prizes donated by magazine sponsors, possibly just bragging rights and some pics in the magazine. Winner is voted for by forum members, possibly a ‘staff pick’ too by the team here and the magazine gets some AMAZING content and builds to publish…and probably a bunch of people who don’t usually buy the mag and just forum-lurk will buy the magazine to hopefully see their build in print. And vice versa, of course…people who read the mag but don’t visit the forum might be inclined to join in the fun and start contributing. Win win win for everyone involved - just like the glory days of model building! 4
Bugatti Fan Posted 9 hours ago Posted 9 hours ago The MPC contests. Now there's a blast from the past ! It would be nice to revive that sort of thing with a major manufacturer sponsoring it. Creating a new, separate forum for this activity would be far more difficult than integrating something like it into the current forum, not to mention the extra costs involved in setting it up and running it. The discussion here is about the current forum adding fee paying tiers to generate income from those wanting special features to be added or some current features to be charged for. 1

What are some things you would like to see added, removed or changed. Please remember that just because you post it here, it does not mean we are going to do it. We are looking for ideas and we will discuss if it is a worthy change. 1 hour ago, Bugatti Fan said: Creating a new, separate forum for this activity would be far more difficult than integrating something like it into the current forum, not to mention the extra costs involved in setting it up and running it. I found it helpful when arranging pictures and text in a specific order. I know its just as easy to edit, but sometimes I might go back and edit a few times to check and rearrange the order due to an oversight. Edited 3 hours ago by Cool Hand

That is true, but you have to scroll in the confined area of the compose box and its easy to overlook and miss something. And I use PC version, so I guess it would be even more annoying on a phone screen. The preview use to open up into how a full post is displayed. 🤷♂️ Edited 3 hours ago by Cool Hand 1
