NOBLNG Posted Tuesday at 05:03 PM Posted Tuesday at 05:03 PM I had lots of fun building this one.π This was an AMT β55 Nomad kit. It came with the half roof option, but it needed a fair bit of modification to fit and look good. The bed is made from real walnut edge veneer. The engine and trans are from a Revell 2002 Camaro. Paint is a mixture of Tamiya metallic red and metallic black. Thanks for looking and all comments welcome.π Build thread here:Β https://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/topic/193789-β55-el-camino/#commentsΒ Β Β 16
espo Posted Tuesday at 06:05 PM Posted Tuesday at 06:05 PM Beautiful paint work and colors. Looking at the body finish and trim someone might not realize just how much effort was put into the body. Great engine and chassis detailing.Β Β 1
johnyrotten Posted Tuesday at 09:51 PM Posted Tuesday at 09:51 PM Beautiful work. If it had a 265 in it, you'd swear G.M. made them. Stunning job with this oneππ 1

thatz4u Posted Wednesday at 03:15 PM Posted Wednesday at 03:15 PM very nice build of this kit, well done 1
Spex84 Posted Thursday at 01:04 AM Posted Thursday at 01:04 AM This is without a doubt the classiest Nomad-imino I've ever seen built. Super inspiring--I loved the incorporation of superior Revell parts, the careful detailing, and the attention to proportion. Not to mention some mighty fine paint, foil, and photography! Congrats on taking this ambitious project to the finish line in style. 1
Carmak Posted Thursday at 01:41 PM Posted Thursday at 01:41 PM Very fine build Greg! On top of what other have said there are lots of subtle changes that really look good (Like removed wing windows and removed tailgate ribs with a spare hood emblem in their place). Also, very nice work blending everything where the roof, bed and body meet. 1

I should have put disc brakes on it too, but you really canβt see them anyways with the factory hubcaps. 22 hours ago, thatz4u said: very nice build of this kit, well done Thanks Al.π 13 hours ago, Spex84 said: This is without a doubt the classiest Nomad-imino I've ever seen built. 1959 Posted Thursday at 05:51 PM Posted Thursday at 05:51 PM Really sharp build! Great paint job with excellent color choice. I made also sometime ago this ElCamino-style 55 and I think this is one of the nicest conversion choices that any model kit has because it could be something that came out of the factory line. Many custom options are more or less odd to my eyes. Kimmo Β 1
