yellowsportwagon Posted Tuesday at 12:17 AM Posted Tuesday at 12:17 AM This things been laying half done for at least 3 years. I decided to finish it this weekend. Was a craftsman kit rebuilder. Couldn’t get the old paint off no matter what I tried. So I sanded it as best as I could and painted over it. Lowered it and put some 3D scale parts wheels and tires on it. Custom mixed two shades of copper for it sprayed a coat of crushed glass over that then cleared it. 19
Ace-Garageguy Posted Tuesday at 12:33 AM Posted Tuesday at 12:33 AM (edited) Very nice. Great color to show off the body sculpting, and the wire wheels work well with the overall style. This has recently become one of my all time favorite American cars, 'cause it looked like an over-the-top full custom just the way it was delivered. I well remember the late 1960s and early '70 sports car snobs disparaging the "tortured sheetmetal" of US car styling a decade earlier (me among them), but looking back, I think they (we) missed the point entirely. Quiet Eric Posted Tuesday at 01:01 AM Posted Tuesday at 01:01 AM Gorgeous, and don't see a lot of those built. I agree, one of my favorite of the late '50's/early '60's GM land barges.
Kah puts Posted Tuesday at 02:26 AM Posted Tuesday at 02:26 AM Oh my! This has great presence and the wheel and tire combination along with the stance is perfect, the foil work looks flawless, thanks for sharing 👍
Geno Posted Tuesday at 12:26 PM Posted Tuesday at 12:26 PM Man, I love the 59/60 Buicks. I've got a '60 in my stash to get to one day. You rocked it with this one.💯

Falcon Ranchero Posted Tuesday at 12:40 PM Posted Tuesday at 12:40 PM Looks very awesome, the colour and the wheels and the stance are perfect. Definitely a kit on my list.
SpikeSchumacher Posted Tuesday at 01:31 PM Posted Tuesday at 01:31 PM Very nicely done and a good save, Tim!
bamadon Posted Tuesday at 03:47 PM Posted Tuesday at 03:47 PM I really like what you did with this '59. The color and the wheels look good. I'm very partial to 59 Buicks because I learned to drive in one, a black Electra that belonged to my grandparents. You haven't lived until you have washed and waxed one of those land yachts.
Cosmic D Posted Tuesday at 07:32 PM Posted Tuesday at 07:32 PM The wheels are a perfect match for this car - its great that you saved it.
espo Posted Tuesday at 08:18 PM Posted Tuesday at 08:18 PM Beautiful paint color and finish. The Buicks seemed to have a custom looking body from the factory. Clean chrome trim and the interior looks great. Like the wire wheels.
gks1964 Posted yesterday at 01:33 AM Posted yesterday at 01:33 AM Beautiful!! Color is great! Love the wheels and tires!
Jim N Posted yesterday at 07:38 PM Posted yesterday at 07:38 PM Great job Tim! I like the work you did a lot. The 1:1 must have been a behemoth.
Zippi Posted 10 hours ago Posted 10 hours ago Turned out pretty nice I'd say Tim. That color really pops in the sun.
