niteowl7710 Posted 9 hours ago Posted 9 hours ago (edited) Round2 with Steve was once again at this year's Plastic Undercover Show in Akron showing their upcoming wares. Onto things that have been added to the display. Wheels added back to the '51 Chevy Reissue of the Polar Lights '04 GTO Reissue of the Indy Drag Combo (and yes the wagon is curbside like the original) 15 or so newly recreated parts including custom rear roof, dashboard, steering column and most of the lowered front suspension. Riding the Ford Vicky chassis and whatnot, but with a new body, glass, and front lights. Slew of improvements to the original MPC kit's body particularly in the front and rear treatments. Mirrors have separate mirror faces and are pinned. Lower side trim is separate if you don't want to make the movie specific vehicle. Lastly the '63 Lemans Convertible which not surprisingly is made up of quite a bit of the original kit that had been tossed into a corner (so to speak) when the original was turned into an AWB. So new body here, along with the associated improvements you've come to expect with these remasters. Edited 9 hours ago by niteowl7710 8 4

gtx6970 Posted 8 hours ago Posted 8 hours ago (edited) Nice stuff Shame they didn't tool up a bench seat for the 72 Duster And I assume. The 65 Dodge is the former polar lights kit? Edited 8 hours ago by gtx6970

Andria H Posted 8 hours ago Posted 8 hours ago The '60 Nomad looks great, the Python and T seem nice too.

Nice, It builds up to be a pretty decent shelf kit, Even if it is a rather simple snap kit I wonder how well it will do sharing shelf space with the Moebius kit in store s 1
Dave Van Posted 8 hours ago Posted 8 hours ago Thanks for the info!! Lil Stoogie reissue is a surprise for sure. I love showrods but bought a few last time around....
Ragtop Man Posted 7 hours ago Posted 7 hours ago 10/10 on the LeMans convertible, have wondered about that one for a while - could the Falcon be far behind? Hoping the halibrands re-appear in the LeMans; converting to a HT should be a breeze. Naturally, all this happened after tracking down a MH windshield frame and leaning on the good graces of a club member to do the repair of an original promo. Anyone have a source for the mags in the '51 Shivvalay HT? Would they be the sorta kinda Keystones from the Minuteman? 3Dverse, I'm looking at you on the Coronet for a better grille. I won't say the original PL got completely bum rapped, but there are a few elements that kinda stick out. Q for the experts: How much of the hot rod T is left from the Touring's original release? Will withold judgement on the MPC Mustang...body may be improved, but it is still fractionally small to be scale.... but the actual release will tell.

TB Any idea if it still has all the original bits from the annual - specifically, the excellent 'kidney bean' Halis? This will put my MCW Tempest on the front burner, and maybe even improve a promo rescue project for another '63. Totally digging them! (Was the inline-4 in the original annual? Might be a resin candidate...)

Size difference is mostly in door length; too bad there wasn't an improvement in the grill, a la amt '69.
DJMar Posted 5 hours ago Posted 5 hours ago How did I miss the news of the '60 Chevy? I must have been sleeping.

'27 T rod parts carried over from the double kit are limited to the Frontenac engine parts, and maybe the rear wheels. Suspension parts are totally different. Edited 4 hours ago by Mark Added info

I overheard it mentioned that pretty much everything was still in the original tooling and only the original body was sacrificed at the AWB alter, but whether that means that every single custom part winds up in the kit is up to the folks at Round2.
