At today's DAAM show in Waterford Twp, MI, Round2 announced that a Mack B-61 semi will be released a year from now.  Didn't get to speak to anyone manning the display, so I'll let someone who did provide more details.

P  L  E  A  S  E   be a 1/25 scale kit!!!!!!   Have one AITM resin cab-kit to build one of dad's (I grew up riding in), but would love to see a nice kit put out, and, as popular as the trucks were, has always amazed me that there was never a model kit done of it.......

If they're gonna be 1/25 scale, can put me down for several.

Please make it with tooling for two separate cabs (a day cab and the integrated sleeper). Much easier than trying to cut and putty cabs.

To all those builders who have been hoarding the old resin/fibreglass cabs, better get building...

Maybe they could do a cab like the AMT Freightliner Cab-over kit, that could separate behind the doors, and have one rear section to complete the day cab, the other to complete the cab as the "integrated-sleeper" version???????????

DJ. no info on the engine.  They are researching in further depth now involving various accredited sources and I suspect that is one of the decisions they will be making as they progress the project forward......Tim

There is a very active 1:1 trucking collector and show hobby, and IIRC, there is even a Mack museum, so I'm guessing that reference will not be hard to come by to get it right. I can see B-Mack being a developer's 'passion project' so let's hope it nails the subject.

3D development does not guarantee perfect fits or an easy build, but in a truck kit with a lot of parts, it will be leagues ahead of the old AMT E. Maple product.

IMHO this is a HUGE gap filled in the hobby... I haven't  built a truck since the '70s, but this will shove every other projects off my table when it arrives.  The number of versions is infinite, and if it goes together well, is a springboard for the aftermarket in 3D and resin.

Now, I'm going to buy up all the "Duel" DVDs and send them to South Bend...

With any luck, Round2 won't over chrome the kit like AMT did with their truck kits back in the day.

I think that is a pretty likely to happen kit development observation on your part.///TB

OH YES!!!!!  A 281 Pete would also be another HOME-RUN for Round 2!!!!!   The B-Model Mack could be the thing that "opens the flood gate" when they see the sales go out thru the roof.  Have to commend Round 2 for taking such a big step, and I truly believe they will be extremely well rewarded.
