Yup...best year IMHO, and every bit as good looking now as it was then...

EDIT: I had a pace-car clone for a short time, and the only thing I didn't like about it was the automatic gearbox...and the big sign on the side.

Maybe none. Maybe that's the problem. Maybe some of those young, hip engineers and designers in the sixties and seventies stepped outside for a smoke break and passed around a doobie or two, then, swimming in inspiration, went back inside and built us some cool cars. That's actually the sorta solution to "this cannot be a Camaro" problem. Forbid the placement of those letters / logo on it and replace with any others that wouldn't raise an eyebrow anymore these days - Kia / Lexus / Plymouth / Nissan / Lincoln / VW / Daewoo .......

I have no problem with the vehicles themselves…it’s the badging that I have an issue with. It may be a fantastic car (?) but it is NOT a Mustang or a Camaro. Are these designers so void of imagination that they can’t come up with a new name for their completely new creation?

  When the one on the right cost millions to develop and they think it's an improvement...

Then not too long ago, after talent was considered to be no-longer-required, that 'teamwork' was superior to design-coherence, and every person in the room got to make a squiggle or line on the proposal, we ended up with...

As a Detroiter, I can say; Only the best. 

Due to my locale and age, I have friends and acquaintenances fairly high in the industry.  I get to (wastefully) voice my opinion and hear theirs. When I noted that the "Mock E" should have been the Maverick, and the Maverick (little truck) should have been the F100, I got, "Hmmmmm," as though. "we should have thought of that."

Years ago, I sat across from a Dodge exec. I noted how they wasted the name "Charger" on that four door monstrosity. While it's a pretty neat car, it's not a Charger. Now, they do the proper, two-door model, but there's no Hemi...only cells and wires. 

The "Camaro" just falls in line with Chevy so closely following the Mustang styling since 1968. You can barely tell the two apart anymore (though the Mustang would be in front). Making a housewife version is just another in the line.

^^^ That new oh so mo better Capri is just horrible. Another example of "everyone in the room got to mark up the drawing".

I've never before seen a design that tried to make a visual virtue of unsprung weight.

I hate ALL electric cars.And I know they’ve been making them since the later 1800’s-1900’s.There all garbage imo.Gas combustion engines,the only way to go.I laugh my ass off every time I see a bunch of Teslas sitting at a local charging station for what seems forever to charge their cars.They sound like UFOs,like when my moron of a neighbor pulls up into his drive way.Oh and they beep like a truck backing up ,beep,beep,beep.Stupid,there not big rigs or a school bus.But you gotta be able to hear it,whatever.🤮And I know some EV cars can have over a 1000 hp,I still don’t trust them,and again,will never like them.bla🤨😝Like electric?Stick a fork in the toaster.Lol.Sorry to all EV owners.Not for me.Nope.

Electrics are good to run errands and going to work within reasonable distances. Charge them at home. Going for a distance is another story. I particularly don't love them but I would have one to drive around, like going in a glorified golf cart. Being an old fart and not giving a hoot about what the rest of the world thinks or says about me is quite relaxing...
