Hemifever Posted November 22 Author Posted November 22 Engine done, moving on to interior and suspension. 8
Hemifever Posted November 24 Author Posted November 24 Cal Tracs are next. Plan on removing the rear mounts and pivot plates, clean them up and using them on the Nova leaf springs, which will be sanded down to a mono leaf. Transfer link and hardware will made up of RB Motion items. More to come. 4

Its too bad that stock eliminator cars are forced to use stock intakes and carbs..cause a painted iron intake and quadrajet usually isnt what you think of when you think "performance" lol. Where did you get those caltrac bars with leaf springs? I bought some a few years ago from Ron Olsen when shapeways was still a thing..unfortunately I havent seen anyone else offer these from the aftermarket 3D printing world.
Andrew McD Posted November 24 Posted November 24 Beautifully detailed engine! Looking forward to seeing more of this project.
Hemifever Posted November 25 Author Posted November 25 I got the leaf springs sanded down. Surgery on Cal Tracs next,. Also I have to get tire and wheel combo picked out. 2
Hemifever Posted November 26 Author Posted November 26 Got the pivot plates and rear mounts off. Going to clean everything a little bit more for a better fit. 5
R. Thorne Posted November 27 Posted November 27 Just for your information, the amt pp008 Goodyear blue streak 9.00x15 slicks are the correct 9” scale rear slicks. Unfortunately, they are a little harder to find nowadays.
bytownshaker Posted November 27 Posted November 27 I look forward to your updates Dennis especially the Cal Trac set up as we only used Lakewood slapper bars on our 67 and 68 F/Stock Camaros back in the day.
fordahaulic Posted Friday at 02:33 PM Posted Friday at 02:33 PM this is impressive work. i might have to borrow some ideas if i ever make it back to the bench.
Moparman18064 Posted Saturday at 12:52 AM Posted Saturday at 12:52 AM Great looking engine, loving the Cal Tracs setup project. 1
Hemifever Posted Sunday at 01:47 AM Author Posted Sunday at 01:47 AM Holley fuel pressure regulator with bracket. Played around with a shift light, gonna redo the bulb. Starting on the suspension next. I still haven't decided on a color yet. and I know that's holding the build up. 4
keviiin86 Posted Sunday at 06:10 AM Posted Sunday at 06:10 AM Nice detail work, those AN fittings look great, where are they from?
Hemifever Posted Sunday at 02:46 PM Author Posted Sunday at 02:46 PM All AN fittings and hardware are from RB Motion. AN fittings come anodized. Looks like his website is still down, I don't know if he's ever going to continue to produce those awesome products. 1
W-409 Posted Monday at 07:12 PM Posted Monday at 07:12 PM As a Stock Eliminator racer in 1:1 scale, it's always nice to see a Stocker being built, and especially when it's being built as well as this one! And I don't only mean your very nice and clean work with all of the sub-assemblies, but also the fact that this car looks like it would pass NHRA tech no problem and be competitive. Really nice work, I'll be watching the progress.

Straightliner59 Posted yesterday at 10:52 AM Posted yesterday at 10:52 AM This thing looks great! Excellent job with the detailing. Always nice to see a rule book on the bench!
Mark W Posted yesterday at 01:23 PM Posted yesterday at 01:23 PM Beautiful work Dennis! Always learn something new watching highly detailed builds like yours.
Hemifever Posted yesterday at 04:05 PM Author Posted yesterday at 04:05 PM Did some test fitting, redrilling and sanding on the pivot plates and rear mount. Little more clean up left to do. Got the tire wheel combo picked out, it's my second choice set up, but it will look good. No luck so far finding the AMT 9.00 x 15 slicks, so I may have to use an alterative tire. Made a new bulb for the shift light. 2
Brutalform Posted yesterday at 06:46 PM Posted yesterday at 06:46 PM Man, that’s such a tiny little lens. Nice work.

papajohn97 Posted 3 hours ago Posted 3 hours ago Thank you Dennis for all the effort you're putting into posting this WIP. So far it's a masterclass in 1/25 car model detailing. And your close-up photos are incredible (DSLR or cell phone camera?).
