What car would you choose to do a modern 'Christine' movie?

Hello, guys! Just curious...... if you could choose the car to do a modern remake of 'Christine', what would you choose? With my example I tried to keep in mind how old the Plymouth was in the movie (about 25 years old). The last generation of the Trans Am would make for a super cool movie hero (?) car! It's both menacing and sensual, just like Christine was!

Anyway, what would your star car be?

This rolling dumpster fire. Modern spin on the movie: kid picks one up at auction, during the rebuild he finds some rather incriminating evidence in the vehicles computer. Former owner or manufacturer realizes this and hacks the car, trying to cover their tracks. Think Terminator on four wheels.

Chrysler Sebring:  The whole movie would just be the car sitting around and constantly fixing itself while random cursing came out through the radio.

I wouldn't, because the movie is a classic as does not need to be re-made. In fact, no movie should be re-made. The studios need to come up with new ideas, or find new books to make screenplays from.

 

Having said that, I would love to see The Duffer Brothers take on the challenge of turning Christine into a book accurate mini-series. 

The book is so much darker than the movie. And there's so many details they changed or eliminated for the movie.

And seeing how The Duffers were able to bring the 80s to life with Stranger Things, I think they could do an incredible job of recreating the late 70s.

With that in mind, if this was to happen, then Christine would be a 1958 Plymouth Fury 4-door sedan. Dennis would drive a 1975 Duster, and Buddy's Camaro would be a 1976 model.

The guy who ran the shop Arnie worked at had a yellow Tucker in the book, if I remember right........... I really enjoyed the book! Read it in my mid-teens......

That was my thought in suggesting it, trying to keep it in the same family.

On a more personal note let's not entertain the thought of a large by huge "computer mouse" that falls apart and refuses to put itself back together again, OK?

That’s like trying to substitute some pile of modern plastic for the Bandit T/A or the Bullet Mustang.

I would just as soon see somebody in Hollywood come up with an original idea for a change instead of remakes, sequels, prequels, etc, etc,  etc.

If I have to see one more commercial for the latest of a hundred rehashed superhero movies, I think I may open up my wrists!! 😑

While I'm one who balks at remakes ( that piece of it Gone in 60 Seconds , for an instance ) , I would be keen on seeing a remake-that's-more-in-line-with-the-novel of Friends of Eddie Coyle. 
Only problem is, who could possibly "substitute" the likes of Mitchum, Boyle, Rocco, Santos, Keats, Ryan, and Jordan ? 
The only actor from the movie that's still alive is James Tolkan... and he's 90-something.

In all fairness, what we think of as “Eleanor” was already a “remake”.

The original “Gone in 60 seconds” film from 1974 did in fact feature a “modern” 1971 Mustang.

The 2000 film actually “regressed” to a ‘67 Shelby.

Even the producers of the 2000 film knew that in order to produce an iconic movie car, a 2000 Mustang wasn’t going to cut it.
