Rob Hall Posted January 18, 2010 Posted January 18, 2010 anyone gotten any new info on this? A couple OLDs have it listed as an April release.
SteveG Posted January 18, 2010 Posted January 18, 2010 No news but here's some photos of the built up that was at I-Hobby Expo last fall. I say It looks pretty darn good to me. I'm sure I'll be buying at least one. Hopefully we'll get a full review from Bill and Len before it's released. -Steve
CNDYBLU66SS Posted January 22, 2010 Posted January 22, 2010 oh boy! i cannot wait... i can almost guarantee that 66s are all you will see me building for a while...!
lowriderphil Posted January 22, 2010 Posted January 22, 2010 my local guy told me early April. I told him when he knows for sure what date I'll hand him the cash for a case

Luc Janssens Posted January 25, 2010 Posted January 25, 2010 Huh...the Impala shown is a presumably a test shot, which was probably build in October of last year...a lot can happen before it gets released. Luc
Chuck Kourouklis Posted January 25, 2010 Posted January 25, 2010 Yeah, but those fender flares were a problem on the '65 Impala, too - looks like they carry right over, in fact. Meh. I still want one.
Chuck Most Posted January 25, 2010 Posted January 25, 2010 I'm of the "if it's right enough I'm okay with it" school of thought. Sure looks like a '66 Imp to me!
MrObsessive Posted January 31, 2010 Posted January 31, 2010 (edited) Sigh............As I mentioned in a previous post, the roofline still doesn't look correct to me. Sorry, but rooflines to me carry the "signature" of a particular car. If they're not right, it makes the entire car off to my eyes. Test shot or no, I'll bet ya this doesn't change with the release of the kit. I've never owned a '66 (or any '65-'66 GM B-body hardtop) but having seen sooooo many of these as a kid in the '60's and as a teen in the '70's-------I can spot the subtle things wrong with the roofline shape in a minute! MyBradKeselowski Posted April 1, 2010 Posted April 1, 2010 Anybody heard anything about the Impala yet? I am very 66 hungry, can't wait much longer

Casey Posted April 24, 2010 Posted April 24, 2010 (edited) I find it interesting the kit is labelled as a "'66 Chevy SS396 Hardtop", while the description on Revell's 'site mentions Impala. I'm no '60s Chevy buff, but was it possible this same bodystle could be had in the Biscayne line, too? It reminds me of Revell's '65 Chevelle SS 396 Z-16 from the pics posted on the layitlow forum. I'm sure this kit'll make a lot of people happy, and give others something to Edited April 24, 2010 by Casey

I'm sure this kit'll make a lot of people happy, and give others something to The Bel Air and Biscayne were not available with the fastback roofline. The lower line models used a more "formal" roofline that was similar on the 2 door and 4 door versions.
