Dr. Cranky Posted August 11, 2012 Posted August 11, 2012 Nick, that Crown Victoria looks like it is ready for paint, looks very smooth.
Olskoolrodder Posted August 12, 2012 Posted August 12, 2012 I've been out and about all day, just getting home. SO my bench has seen no action at all today (well, there may have been a life and death struggle between a spider and fly,but I digress...),but I may yet go out there,it's a pleasantly cool evening and the lighting isn't that bad,LOL!
martinfan5 Posted August 12, 2012 Posted August 12, 2012 Same here, been busy day, It was my daughters first bday party, so no time to work, but now everyone is gone, dinner on the way, time to get something done, here is hoping it be model related
rmvw guy Posted August 12, 2012 Posted August 12, 2012 OK, here's what I got done today. I hate doing sparkplug wires, this is what slows down my builds so much! I know this is just a basic step in detailing but, I'm still trying to master it. All I got done was three wires so far. Wish I could go back to no wires but, it's too late for me. I dread it every time. Please, please, don't tell me I need to do brake lines and hoses! The Texaco truck has been on hold for over two hours, now it's time to get back to work.
Nick Winter Posted August 12, 2012 Posted August 12, 2012 Nick, that Crown Victoria looks like it is ready for paint, looks very smooth. Thank you Doc, it received a squirt of color this morning, humidity has been low do to the cool weather. Anyway here is a sneak peak. Many Tiny fragile decals involved in this process, not like doing my '57 TMP car. Nick Back to work, still need to do the Right side.
blueoval92 Posted August 12, 2012 Posted August 12, 2012 how it looked when i woke up this morning, this is pretty messy for me, clean to others. had to straighten up, could understand how i found anything last night while i was working. lol
Chuck Most Posted August 12, 2012 Posted August 12, 2012 Trying to get a master for resin casting finished, but I won't say what it is or who will be casting it. (Though I will say it's not a '57 Chevy and I'll not be the one casting it.)

May it be the first of very many
martinfan5 Posted August 12, 2012 Posted August 12, 2012 (edited) Happy borthday to Daughter!!! May it be the first of very many Thank you Steve Nick, nice job, is that Toronto Pd? Edited August 12, 2012 by martinfan5
charlie8575 Posted August 12, 2012 Posted August 12, 2012 I've been out of the hobby for a while. I moved into a new house, got married, etc. So today I decided to get my sh*t together and start working on some old projects. But first I needed a bench, so I built a simple 5'x2' bench in our spare bedroom. I also set up my lathe in the garage and purchased a mill attachment for it. I pulled out my old Viper drift car to finish as well. I'll hopefully be done this week some time. I like this, too. As I'm in the process of re-doing my bedroom, I may borrow this design for a workbench. Charlie Larkin
Dr. Cranky Posted August 12, 2012 Posted August 12, 2012 Nice work Nick and Charlie, these are going to be fine models when finished.
Nick Winter Posted August 12, 2012 Posted August 12, 2012 Thanks Cranky, Jonathan, yes Toronto Metropolitan PD.
Terror Posted August 12, 2012 Posted August 12, 2012 hey Nick nice builds man. Does that frog tape work well on models?
Nick Winter Posted August 12, 2012 Posted August 12, 2012 Never tried it, it's an empty container that I'm storing a whole engine in till I can put it together.
Ramfins59 Posted August 12, 2012 Posted August 12, 2012 hey Nick nice builds man. Does that frog tape work well on models? Yes, Frog Tape does work on models. I used it successfully when masking off interior panels & seats. You have to burnish it down really well, then cut out what you want masked with an XActo knife, then reburnish the cut edge (I used a toothpick). Paint away... I removed the tape after the paint dried (lacquer) and had a nice, even, straight edge, with absolutely NO paint bleed.
rmvw guy Posted August 25, 2012 Posted August 25, 2012 Here's what I'm working on today. I started my first community build on the AMT '32 Roadster Pro Shop 3 in 1 kit. This is as clean as the bench ever gets.

zaina Posted August 26, 2012 Posted August 26, 2012 By the looks of the glasses sitting on the work bench, I'd say that's Walt's workbench, not Byans. but that looks more like a modeling bench, not a meth lab, the glasses must Bryan's
JasonFL Posted August 26, 2012 Posted August 26, 2012 but that looks more like a modeling bench, not a meth lab, the glasses must Bryan's Haha....good point. There's not enough time for modeling when your trying to build an empire.
