bsoder Posted August 8, 2010 Posted August 8, 2010 Built this aways back from an old Revell kit...I was in my late teens early 20s during the Van "craze" and yea of course I wanted one, but that never happened, did know a few guys that did though. This is one based on my memories of some of these blasts from the past I know some a you guys remember these party wagons
gseeds Posted August 8, 2010 Posted August 8, 2010 really cool !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i dig the whole 70's van thing ,and yours looks great !!
crazyjim Posted August 8, 2010 Posted August 8, 2010 Your van takes me back to the good old days. Nice work - looks excellent.
kingiguana Posted August 8, 2010 Posted August 8, 2010 NICE ! Cool van, great paint, wheels aren't my cup of tea, I'd had gone Keystones, or Cragars, or maybe some slots. I see someone is ready to party,........alas, shes alone in the back of the van. Her man must have gone to get some brewski's, or perhaps stepped out to get rid of some brewski's ? Is this a Revell van?
Space Cowboy Posted August 8, 2010 Posted August 8, 2010 Brian you did an outstanding job on the van and to bring back some great memories...Thanks

Scalper Posted August 27, 2010 Posted August 27, 2010 wow that is cool. love it.. bet you a cloud smoke poures out when you open the doors.
David G. Posted August 28, 2010 Posted August 28, 2010 As we would've said back in the day... Bi'chin van, man! I wonder what some of the tuner crowd would say if they were able to see the "Van Ins" that were popular back then- dozens or even hundreds of these full size monstrosities all opened up for display. It was an awesome sight!
Guest Johnny Posted August 28, 2010 Posted August 28, 2010 Nice "Shaggin' Wagon"!!! I built several back in the day, models and 1:1's Gave all themodels away after the fad died out. Thought they didn't fit among the Muscle Cars and the Stock Cars. Now I waish I had them all back! They never kitted my favorite though! The early 60's flat fronted Ford Falcon/Econoline or the Chevy's of the same years. Only the Dodge in resin is available to convert the LRW kit! I owned three of the Fords the last one I stuffed with the 428 and C-6 out of my uncles 69 Ranch Wagon after he totaled it! What a difference from the old 200ci 6 banger three on the tree! Was a bit squirrly to drive with the skinny's up front and jacked a mile in the rear with N-50 15 Sticky Mickeys on 10 inch US aluminum slots out back! I'd love to replicate that one in plastic and in 1:1 too!
1320wayne Posted August 28, 2010 Posted August 28, 2010 Excellent work. Your choice of colors and graphics are perfect. The interior looks great. I too would love to see some van kits reissued along with Revell's parts kit for detailing vans. There was a lot of cool stuff in that. Anybody remember the movie "The Van"?
Chuck Most Posted August 28, 2010 Posted August 28, 2010 They never kitted my favorite though! The early 60's flat fronted Ford Falcon/Econoline or the Chevy's of the same years. Only the Dodge in resin is available to convert the LRW kit! I feel your pain, brother! Be that as it may, this is still the coolest Revell '70's van model I've ever seen. A real time warp!
