Guest Johnny Posted September 9, 2010 Posted September 9, 2010 Wait untill your 60, I,m looking through the magnifer using my bi-focals. I can relate to that one and I'm still a little over a years from that age!!!!
Dragline Posted September 9, 2010 Posted September 9, 2010 I started to have to use 2X glasses about a year and a half ago. I also use a 8X goosenecked magnifyer that attatches to my table for those up close and personal tasks. At 45 I knew I'd need glasses someday. It sucks when the day comes though. Wear age like a badge of honor. Any dink can make it to 20. Make it to 50 and then we'll talk. 5 years to go. Bob
RodneyBad Posted September 9, 2010 Posted September 9, 2010 OMG!! Your soo old hittin 41 for me made me realize I need some extra vision help. soo far I have started with 1.25 mag glasses and have a pair of 1.50x glasses near by when the detail gets finer. You may get older but ya don't have to act your age.. I'm still 18
Joe Handley Posted September 9, 2010 Posted September 9, 2010 Dad has a very truthful saying about getting old, unfortunately.....I can't post it on here
Guest Posted September 9, 2010 Posted September 9, 2010 Wait untill your 60, I,m looking through the magnifer using my bi-focals. I'll be 50 in November, and am doing this, have had em for about 3 or 4 years now, been using readers for 5 or 6.
David G. Posted September 9, 2010 Posted September 9, 2010 Last year, I joined the "Half-Way to 90 Club". There are no fancy "clubs" this year, I'm just 46. I'm in the same optical boat as many of the rest of you, I use a lighted magnifier and have worn "progressives" for almost seven years. I can still remember being able to see small thingies by moving them closer to my eyes instead of having to move them farther away.
george 53 Posted September 9, 2010 Posted September 9, 2010 I'm 57, been wearin glasses ALL my life, well since 16, either that or NOT drive! but I been usein an Opti Visor for at least 10 years! They're comfy, are right there when ya need 'em, an your eyes WILL thank you for them. i HIGHLY recommend them. ;)
Jon Cole Posted September 9, 2010 Posted September 9, 2010 I am 54, but I have had one of these for 20+ years... couldn't work without it.
Foxer Posted September 9, 2010 Posted September 9, 2010 You guys just don't get it! I have worn glasses since I was 8 and now it's 64. But ... I finally got cataracts and had both lenses replaced in my eyes. Now I have perfect vision! You're all just too young to have good vision!
george 53 Posted September 9, 2010 Posted September 9, 2010 I am 54, but I have had one of these for 20+ years... couldn't work without it. Joe, I have one of those too, I never got rid of it after I got my Opti-Visors. If ya don't have some, it wouldn't be a waste to invest in a pair, they're ALOT easier to use, an that'z tha truffe!!!!

Kaleb Posted September 9, 2010 Posted September 9, 2010 I am 54, but I have had one of these for 20+ years... couldn't work without it. I just turned 27 and wished I had one of those...ive been wearing contacts for years my eyes went bad around 7 years old.
highway Posted September 9, 2010 Posted September 9, 2010 Has nothing to do with age. Magnifiers makes it easier to build, though I hadn't used them in many years before buying another set several months ago & I turned 49 Monday! Very well said, Mark. I am 34 and will be turning 35 in February, and I have never worn glasses, and I have been using my Opti Visors for about 10 years now. Before that I used a lamp like Jon (or Joe, whatever his name is now ) ahd in his post, and had that almost since I started building at age 8.
my66s55 Posted September 9, 2010 Posted September 9, 2010 I am 65 and use a light with a magnifier on it. In addition, I look through trifocals with the equivalent of having my right eye closed. This makes for a lot of challenges as I not only have to see the parts, I also try and figure out how far away from each other they are so I can glue or brush paint them.
