ismaelg Posted February 22, 2007 Posted February 22, 2007 Hello! It's finally done. I was in some kind of a mini slump. So I used the opportunity to exercise the basics. This is a 100% box stock / spray can build. No flocking, no wires, no aluminum tubing, no nothing else other than paint and glue. The only "modification" was cutting the wheel mounting studs so the car would sit lower. Stance is everything. I have to admit I like it. Too bad I need to ship it back to the owner. I had so much fun doing this curbside box stock that I will do 2 more before going back to my beloved detailed Corvettes. I really recommend all of you to do this every once in a while. As usual, your comments are appreciated. Sorry for so many pics, I couldn't help it Revell Germany Ferrari 612 Scaglietti Plastikote Medium Blue lacquer spray Tamiya clear Hi, I'm blue and here is Goldy, my evil twin brother: You can see Goldy sits a hint lower. Here you can see the difference in the hoods. Curbside vs Full Engine detail. Here are some "studio" shots: Thanks,
BIGTRUCK Posted February 22, 2007 Posted February 22, 2007 Super builds Izzy....I'm sure the new owner will absolutely love it!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Zoom Zoom Posted February 22, 2007 Posted February 22, 2007 Looks great 8) Especially the stance  Too bad Ferrari doesn't realize that
MrObsessive Posted February 22, 2007 Posted February 22, 2007 That is one gorgeous prancing horse Izzy! Too bad you have to give it back to who wanted it. I'd be hard pressed to give something that nice away. Can't you tell 'em you broke it on the floor or something, and you'll make another one??
crispy Posted February 22, 2007 Posted February 22, 2007 Ismael, Can you hear that???? The roaring crowd? Yeah, you hit a home run! I have to agree with you 100%, a box stock build is good for the modeling soul. I hope your friend enjoys it! Thanks for sharing! Chris
Nick F40 Posted February 22, 2007 Posted February 22, 2007 Wow, my two favorites, Ferrari and blue! 8) Well done Izzy, I love it!
cruz Posted February 22, 2007 Posted February 22, 2007 Very nice as always but I would look for a good excuse to keep it man, listen to Bill Geary or just come up with something
Tonioseven Posted February 22, 2007 Posted February 22, 2007 You've done such an excellent job on it that I think I want one now!
Steve H. Posted February 22, 2007 Posted February 22, 2007 Beautiful build. I'm sure its hard to part with! I guess thats why I don't build commission work (that and nobody has asked me to! ) That blue fits the car very well, and the stance is great!
Matt T. Posted February 22, 2007 Posted February 22, 2007 Beautiful again, Izzy! Very nice shade of blue - the new owner is going to absolutely love it. Seeing the gold one again prompted me to just go buy that Revell 612 kit online. Inspiring!
simonr Posted February 23, 2007 Posted February 23, 2007 Ismael, from any side you see the model, it's such a real nice build,..box stock!....but, anyway it's a nice build. Like the famous phrase says: "Back to the basics" Te quedo bien conco... Simon
Guest zebm1 Posted February 23, 2007 Posted February 23, 2007 I'm a reserved complimenter, as yu know Izz, but then yu showed in PSAB and as I said then, I'll say again.....this is one ###### fine piece of work Ismael. I am truly impressed by tha clarity of yur window work, truly adds to tha reality of yur model's appearance. Clearly showroom quality. But, it still looks like a Nissan Izz. Zeb  psssst; I luv yur showroom......
Andy Wyatt Posted February 24, 2007 Posted February 24, 2007 That's sharp! Exotics aren't exactly my thing (although I have a Lambo Miura that may find it's way to the REAL soon). Very smooth paint, perfect stance. Very nice job Izzy!
ismaelg Posted February 26, 2007 Author Posted February 26, 2007 Gang, I'm pleasantly surprised to see such a good reaction to a box stock build of a subject that is not necessarily the most popular around. Thanks a lot!
bsoder Posted February 28, 2007 Posted February 28, 2007 Nice to see a Ferrari in something besides red ..those are both beautys...but that blue is just gorgous!!! ...B
Jeff Johnston Posted March 3, 2007 Posted March 3, 2007 That is a sweet Ferrari Izzy. I had a Ferrari in my hand today but left is on trhe shelf. Now I am wishing it'd come home with me LOL

Ken Posted September 3, 2007 Posted September 3, 2007 Is it just me, or does it look like it has a goofy grin on its face??? Probably just knows how good it looks. Great work again Izzy!!!!
