Aaronw Posted October 7, 2014 Posted October 7, 2014 Well after 14 years I'm no longer just a Toyota guy. Sadly just shy of 300,000 miles my 1996 Tacoma was the victim of a driver who apparently didn't realize cars can't share the same space. A moment of silence please ... So shopping around for cars, I just couldn't take all the jelly bean cars out there these days. Enter my new daily driver, a 1985 Volvo 244, aka the Swedish Brick. One thing I can definitely say, it does not look like a jelly bean.
chevyfever2009 Posted October 7, 2014 Posted October 7, 2014 My cars I have are a 1999 s10 single cab 2001 &2002 ext cab 3rd door s10s & then my crappie Mitsubishi Galant
oldscool Posted October 7, 2014 Posted October 7, 2014 Traded my 2009 Focus for this about three months ago.

Joe Handley Posted October 8, 2014 Posted October 8, 2014 Traded my 2009 Focus for this about three months ago. Nice, did you get a 4 cyl or V-6 car?
chunkypeanutbutter Posted October 8, 2014 Posted October 8, 2014 If I end up getting my license (not doing driver's Ed, just going to take the test), I'll be driving this. 1988 Ranger XLT, 4 cylinder engine with three-inch pipes off the heads, wrapped with asbestos cloth, mild drop.
alan barton Posted October 8, 2014 Posted October 8, 2014 (edited) Here's my daily driver for the last thirty years. A steel 1929 Model A Ford hot rod that I built myself after buying a frame for $5 when i was thirteen years old. Done way over 250,000 miles but the speedo wasn't the most reliable part of the car! 350 Chev, Turbo 400, 9inch rear, HK Holden front end. I built it myself and have driven it all over Australia including "across the paddock" five times (that's the lonely East West drive across the Nullabor plain for you overseas guys!) It needs a rebuild but building models and driving hot rods is more fun! Cheers Alan Edited October 8, 2014 by alan barton
Aaronw Posted October 8, 2014 Posted October 8, 2014 Here's my car. It's a 1973 Ford Maverick with the 250 c.i. inline 6 and a C4 automatic transmission Its probably been 20 years since I've seen a Maverick, and that one had been abandoned in a ditch for some time. Neat to see one still on the road. That stinks about the Toyota, but those Volvos are great cars. I have always wanted to pick one up. They don't seem to be just buy new tires every few years, change the oil now and then reliable like older Toyotas, but it is easy to work on and is built like a tank. 30 years old with 380,000 miles and it still feels like a new car.
91blaze Posted October 8, 2014 Posted October 8, 2014 My current daily driver and project car is a 1966 Corvair Monza. I love the way it drives and people are always interested in it and asking questions. Makes a great conversation starter.
DeeCee Posted October 8, 2014 Posted October 8, 2014 Monday to Friday Good ol' P/T On the week-end i pick either the 66' VC Valiant sedan with the 360 in it. Or my recently finished 67 VC Valiant ute Hemi 245 6cly. 100% all my own work.
Pim Posted October 8, 2014 Posted October 8, 2014 Nice old ute there Dale I'd love one of these as my first car but my budget won't allow it.
Tom Geiger Posted October 8, 2014 Posted October 8, 2014 I've had a VC Ute on my bucket list from the first moment I learned they existed! Someday maybe I'll find one and import it to the USA. It sure would make a stir at car shows here. I'm at the crossroads of evaluating my fleet and maybe upgrading. My 1996 Grand Caravan is in the shop having a transmission replaced at 195,000 miles. The 1999 Breeze my wife is driving has 155,000 on it and the air conditioning evaporator needs replacing so I've been adding gas to it all summer. One shop said that half the dash needs to come out to get to it and wanted $700 labor, so that's not happening. So I'm at that point of making the next automotive decision. I take it pretty serious since I keep cars a long time. I've been doing the math on buying something cheap new and buying something for less than $10k used. I still don't know what to do here!
Kennyboy Posted October 11, 2014 Posted October 11, 2014 (edited) My daily driver looks just like this one....2014 Hyundai Accent SE loaded 6 Speed manual (but mine has the RallyArmor mudflaps and Retro'd Xenon's) Edited October 11, 2014 by Kennyboy
btapper Posted October 12, 2014 Posted October 12, 2014 my hand me down breaks down weekly 2011 Volvo with it's gutless 400hp cummins and autoshift, with my companies' awesome homemade deer bar and weight saving bumper corner, sideskirt, and fairing delete package. hopefully my upcoming cascadia with a dd15 will be better.
btapper Posted October 12, 2014 Posted October 12, 2014 my 2009 nissan cube i love it because everyone hates it
Joe Handley Posted October 12, 2014 Posted October 12, 2014 my 2009 nissan cube i love it because everyone hates it A while back I got to thinking about something after seeing one of those on the way home from work, "What Would a Show Rod Builder Do". Might be interesting to see one of those reworked with some sort of longer than stock tube frame, big V-8 (maybe from a Titan pickup), reworked to look like a cross between a gasser and a 60's style show rod. Ok, I'll lock that twisted part of my imagination back up now.............
deuces wild Posted October 12, 2014 Posted October 12, 2014 Right now a '05 GT droptop pony that I bought new.. Got it 2 weeks before my 45th birthday..
W-409 Posted October 13, 2014 Posted October 13, 2014 Can't wait for the Summer 2015! So it's a '60 Impala that was imported to Finland in 1988. Now after 5 years sitting in a garage unused, it's time to do some fixing for the next summer. It needs minor welding and some smaller fixes and of course some cleaning. It has a Matching Numbers 283 and PowerGlide in it.
hgbben Posted October 13, 2014 Posted October 13, 2014 That is a great car. Love the lines of the 60's
om617 Posted October 13, 2014 Posted October 13, 2014 Great looking Impala Niko, and cool plates Still in search of my US car and have increased the budget a bit.
