kenb Posted August 16, 2011 Posted August 16, 2011 So I just got finished reading a post about this 32 Ford Sport Coupe from Replicars and Miniatures of Maryland, and this body looks fantastic. Everyone is saying how great the products are and how nice the owner Norm is to deal with. Now I haven't done much with resin, just some odds and end pieces purchased at some model shows and a few pieces I cast for one of my r/c tugboats, but I think it's time i got something like this coupe. So I google this Replicars and Miniatures of Maryland place and come up with just about nothing. Just some other websites that carry some of his product. If someone could please let me know how to contact them, and do they have a catalog? I'm really surprised that in that posting how everyone was praising the product that not one person thought to give this guy a plug and put his contact information in there. I have some friends that live in Glen Burnie and every once in a while I'm in the area. Do they have a walk in retail store there? Looking forward to doing business with them. Thanks, Ken
Mike Kucaba Posted August 16, 2011 Posted August 16, 2011 Replicas & Miniatures does not have a website. The only way to do business with Norm is to call him (410-768-3648) &/or e-mail him at replmincomd@aol.com. He does have a catalog and does take credit cards.e-mail or call & see if he charges for it.It's pretty extensive so he probably does. He has no retail store, and it would probably be a good idea to ask if you could visit. HTH
kenb Posted August 17, 2011 Author Posted August 17, 2011 Cool, thanks Mike. I'll drop him an email. Ken
Bridgebuster Posted August 23, 2011 Posted August 23, 2011 There WAS a link to Norm's "catalog" on Fotki, but I tried it tonight and it seems it's not available . . . at least I can't get to it. http://public.fotki.com/davetoups/aftermarket_model_parts/replicas_and_miniat/
Steven Zimmerman Posted August 23, 2011 Posted August 23, 2011 Norm's resin is the best i've ever seen. I drop a hundred bucks at his table most years at NNL east, and well worth it.
High octane Posted August 23, 2011 Posted August 23, 2011 I'm hoping to see Norm again at this years NNL in Toledo, and of course I'll buy a few things from him whether I need them or not. Seems like I have an awful lot of aftermarket parts that I bought for future use and that I need to get off my butt and build more.
MrObsessive Posted August 23, 2011 Posted August 23, 2011 Here's another link for Norm's catalog..............and it is working! http://public.fotki....casminiatureof/
MrObsessive Posted August 23, 2011 Posted August 23, 2011 BTW, I just received from Norm the other week, his EXCELLENT V-12 engine for Ferrari 250 GT SWB's as well as an interior set for same. A usual, there's nary a flaw in the castings, and his turnaround time was super fast!
Chas SCR Posted August 23, 2011 Posted August 23, 2011 I just got my order also from Norm, a lot of great stuff to do Undsiputed 32 and Maganitude... His resin is so nice!
Bridgebuster Posted August 24, 2011 Posted August 24, 2011 Here's another link for Norm's catalog..............and it is working! http://public.fotki....casminiatureof/ Thanks Bill
kenb Posted August 24, 2011 Author Posted August 24, 2011 Thank you Bill. I'm looking forward to doing business with him. Looks like I have another place to spend my money. Ken
Rob Hall Posted September 1, 2011 Posted September 1, 2011 Just got their new catalog in the mail yesterday...lots of goodies. It's been a few years since I've ordered from Norm, but I see a bunch of stuff I want..
High octane Posted September 1, 2011 Posted September 1, 2011 I'm hopin' to see Norm next month in Toledo and give him some of my money. He is a great guy to do business with.
Ranchwagon Posted September 2, 2011 Posted September 2, 2011 I've bought resin from Norm for many years, starting at Toledo when we lived in Michigan. His quality and service is the best. I call in a couple of orders a year, usually to get his new stuff and recently got his '32 Ford cabriolet and sport coupe bodies. Outstanding as usual.
charlie8575 Posted September 3, 2011 Posted September 3, 2011 I met Norm very briefly at NNL-East this year. I found him to be a very nice guy, his products are every bit as good as they look, and he patiently took the time to explain to me how some of his products were intended to work with their plastic mates. I would buy something from him with no hesitation whatsoever. Charlie Larkin
Risto Posted September 7, 2011 Posted September 7, 2011 Just got some goodies from Norm and I couldn't be happier. Excellent quality and these require almost no cleanup. Got some unbelievable wire wheels and rat rod tires and his artllery wheels to go on his Deuce cabriolet. I also got some single bar hubcaps for the soon to be released '48 Coupe from Revell. His items are the best and it's always a pleasure to deal with him! Met him about ten years ago at NNL East and have been friends ever since, but I've been a loyal customer for close to 15 years by now.
Chuck Most Posted September 9, 2011 Posted September 9, 2011 My only gripe about Norm's stuff is I don't have enough cash to buy ten examples of everything he sells! I really dig his Halibrand wheels-
cruz Posted September 23, 2011 Posted September 23, 2011 The only gripe I have about Norm is that he does'nt have his workshop in my basement....
Maindrian Pace Posted September 23, 2011 Posted September 23, 2011 One of Norm's greatest products are the Mustang LX 10 hole wheels, which come with photo etched center caps for either Ford or Thunderbird. They have been out for over 20 years now. -MJS
Crazy Ed Posted September 23, 2011 Posted September 23, 2011 My only gripe about Norm's stuff is I don't have enough cash to buy ten examples of everything he sells! WOW Chuck, 10 of each! Ain't that kinda excessive Crazy Ed
Maindrian Pace Posted September 24, 2011 Posted September 24, 2011 I noticed that. Not cool. I cut mine down to faces so I could use the Monogram wheel backs to make the car roll. -MJS
Gregg Posted September 24, 2011 Posted September 24, 2011 And Darin Bastedo did that great feature on him in the recent issue of MCM that was superb!!! Thanks, Darin!!!
