1970 Buick GSX "Flipnose"

Hello......this is another resin body from : Mr. Greg Wann the "Master Caster" from Arizona the: "Moonlight Modeler`s Club".......the donor kit is a Revell/ Monogram `70 Buick GSX kit........I did few modifications.......H.O.K. gold base with H.O.K. Pagan Gold and H.O.K. Black on the hood..... stripped all chrome and painted alclad.........I used "Pro Tech" t`,fittings,spark plug wire`s,wire loom`s,detailing wire,nut and bolt end`s,gauges and rubber fuel line......bare-metal foil ,kitchen shelving sticky paper for the wood grain effect...... and medical bandage tape on the seats and door panels airbrushed with "Odd`s and End`s" enamel paint........ and velvet black carpeting ......thank you Greg for a fine resin body kit.......if you would like to see how I built this model please look in the "Workbench" section......thank`s

Just curious, but why do you strip the chrome parts and then go and "rechrome" them with Alclad when they were already plated to begin with? Seems like a lot of extra work just to get back to where you already were...

Harry......great question...... when I would trim the chrome part from the tree..... in my eye`s .sometimes you see the chrome is missing from the part you trimmed......and it just does not work for me when you touch it up with chrome paint or foil ......I like the part to look uniform ......and sometimes the chrome from the kit doesn`t look right to me.....that`s just my thought.......and to tell you the truth it`s really not that much extra work.....thank`s

John, are these resin models??? I thought they were Monograms 1/24th GSX kit. Are the 1/25th? Do you have an addy or website to be able to get one?

George.....yes,this is a resin body and front clip and tub and engine kit fro Greg Wann "Master Caster" from Arizona.......the donor kit is a Revell/Monogram `70 Buick GSX 2`n1 kit.......Greg is the same guy who made the "Cosma Ray" resin kit.......Danno can hook you up with the website.....thank`s

Sweet Sweet Build and i agree with you on the chrome 100%

no matter how careful you are there is always a tiny tiny bit left with no chrome, just knowing it's there makes me crazy even if you cant see it

Hey Harry the kit chrome always looks like plastic , Alclad is so much closer to the real thing (IMO) I always strip it too. Good Job on this one John!

She's a beaut John. I especially like all of the wire mesh work and the interior details.

I usually strip chrome too. I do it primarily on larger parts that have a mold line or mismatch. I HATE mold lines !!!!!!!

Can't wait to see what rolls up to the line for your next build.

FANTASTIC Buick, as always John! That color fits perfectly, these '70 GSX Buicks are looking really nice on 1:1 scale. Your color is bit different, than the original one, that's why I like it. Also that paintjob is truly amazing, VERY shiny and smooth as glass. Detailing is just amazing, and that air cleaner looks just like 1:1 sized part. Whole car is amazing, I can't even complaine about those wheels, it's so nice that those wheels don't make it look bad. There isn't enough words, so I could tell, how nice it really is, maybe the best model, I've seen.

Now I'm going to pick up my jaw pieces from the floor...
