Lunajammer Posted December 1, 2011 Posted December 1, 2011 (edited) This is my entry in Jantrix's Cannonball. It's a Revell VW on a Pinto Modified racer chassis. Custom built rear fenders and lower skirts, I shortened the chassis at the front and rear, widened the Pinto floor, customized a front grill and side pipes, scratch built a rear bulkhead and interior panels and added a Datsun (280Z?) dash. Parts box rear bumper and air cleaner. All chrome, except bumper, is Alclad. Paints were Testors enamels accented with two home made checkers decals. Lunajammer Posted December 2, 2011 Author Posted December 2, 2011 Hey everybody, thanks so much for the warm response and interesting comments. This was my first build in almost ten years. It took a while just to get reacquainted with my tools, techniques and dried up supplies. For better or worse, I think I'm back, thanks in large part to the fellowship of the online community. Chuck, you'd be stealing from the thief.
Jantrix Posted December 2, 2011 Posted December 2, 2011 Mike, for some reason the Cannonball really brings out the unique builders and I'm real glad you were with us this year. Great build.
Sam Cates Posted December 2, 2011 Posted December 2, 2011 Love the concept, love the detail, that bug is bad ass. I just keep coming back to look at it!
