ROB213 Posted December 26, 2011 Posted December 26, 2011 (edited) HI, fellas heres a little about myself. iv been working on models off and on since i was about 8, I'm 36 now yikes time flies lol about 6 years ago i caught the model bug real hard, buying models where ever i could find them. i got real big into vintage kits jo han, mpc, amt etc... you name it i probably got it. but about 3 years ago i caught another bug,... bmx! i got real big into collecting 80's bikes like what i used to ride back then, and kind of lost interest in this hobby and stopped building until last year to the date on x-mas night, i was surfing the web and found this wonderful place and seen all these sweet build's you guy's got here. i tried getting back into it and building something but with a new born and having limited space it just didn't happen. untill 3 weeks ago i talked to the head off the house (the wife) and finally got a little work bench i can call my own whoopie time to start building!!!! so with out further ado here is one i pulled from the vault, its a 1991 Cadillac 4d brougham d'elegance resin body with a revell 2dr cadilac donor kit. in this pic i cut off the front end of the resin so i can add the engine compartment from the donor caddy heres the doors i worked on, a lot of cutting and measuring lol heres the finished tub. i wll keep updating this post in the next few weeks, as i move along to the chassie and body. hope you guy's like it as i know im in here with the best modelers iv seen to date p.s. MERRY CHRISTMAS!!! and excuse my writing and spelling skills lol Edited December 26, 2011 by ROB213

Erik Smith Posted December 26, 2011 Posted December 26, 2011 Cool idea. Wow, that interior went from blurry to awesome in one frame! Looks really great so far.
george 53 Posted December 26, 2011 Posted December 26, 2011 I built Cadillacs for 32 years, an THAT'S the BEST Cadillac model interior I've ever seen! You did a commendably excellent job on that rascal! If the rest of it comes to that level, you'll REALLY have you a BEAUTIFUL model Cadillac!!! :D
Plasticfanatic Posted December 26, 2011 Posted December 26, 2011 Now this is a project I will be following!....the conversion and surgery looks great and the interior, simply superb. Great work and looking forward for more updates.

Ron Hamilton Posted December 30, 2011 Posted December 30, 2011 I am enjoying this build, and I agree with George, in that your interior work is beautiful. However, didn't the Brougham d'Elegance option include the pillow backed, diamond button-tufted inserts in the seats? When I did mine, I included the button-tufted seats. Just an observation. Your 4-Door is coming along great. I too would like to do a 4-Door one of these days.
Draggon Posted December 31, 2011 Posted December 31, 2011 A former g/f had a Caddy "bro-ham" and believe me, you nailed that interior! The backseat looks.... OOPS cant say that here!
PARTSMARTY Posted December 31, 2011 Posted December 31, 2011 EXCELLENT SUBJECT!EXCELLENT INTERIOR-CONGRATULATIONS KEEP IT UP.
Joe Handley Posted January 1, 2012 Posted January 1, 2012 Wow, that interior blew me away, fantasic work!!!!

ROB213 Posted January 11, 2012 Author Posted January 11, 2012 (edited) ok fellas, had some time to work on the engine, chassis and slapped on the wire wheels. im getting ready to go skating just have to work on the body now and prep it for paint Edited January 11, 2012 by ROB213
baddgass Posted January 11, 2012 Posted January 11, 2012 Very nice work on the caddy brother, and love that beautiful interior.
mr moto Posted January 11, 2012 Posted January 11, 2012 I second what everybody's said about the interior. Absolutely outstanding! What did you use for the carpet? It looks better than flocking but maybe you're just that much better with flocking than I am!
