route66modeler
Hi, Well, I was wondering what the response would be to a new tool of the 1970's comet/maverick? I think with the interest in nos. drag racing, they would sell well. How about it Revell? Or? I would buy at least 5 of each. Steve
Junkman
None.

High octane
None, as I have one in the "stash" already.
moparmagiclives
I didn't think a stock maverick was a big contender ? I would rather see a comet cyclone
Chuck Most
Several Mavericks- maybe not as many Comets.
a/gass
ied like to see a grabber.
bigphoto
A couple three!!
Drake69
One or two Grabbers, maybe a couple that offers different generations of Mavs like the thin front bumper versus the "whale-rib" one.
A.R.C.
I`ve always really liked Mavericks and Comets, especially the V8 versions. We had a 1970 2 door Mav (not a Grabber) with a 302 when I was a kid. My Dad was always getting on the throttle with it. 3 days after Christmas my G/F came home with 2 built it yourself 1/24 die casts for me. A standard model 2 door Maverick and a Comet GT. They come completely disassembled and primed for paint. She found them at Londone Drugs in the discount bins for $5 each. It made my whole day. Ones going to be a highly modded Corvette Killer and the other I will build stock in homage to a very cool, very under rated car.
Rob Hall
I have one of the later issue Johan Comets, would like to find one of the Mavericks...too bad they don't have the stock parts.
Erik Smith
I would buy 0. I have two JoHan Mavericks. A new tool Maverick/Comet will never happen. Reissue, yes, but I really feel confident about never seeing a new tool.
Maindrian Pace
I have a few originals of each, Comet reissues are common, a Maverick re-tooled into a Grabber would be a nice new release. -MJS
Sixx
need Maverick!!!!! several in fact!!!
Joe Handley
Maybe one, but wouldn't take special order one to get it like I did the Gremlin and Chevy Vans.
Casey
If Revell tooled up an all new kit of a '70 Maverick 2-door, I would buy one. I would even buy a reissue of either/both the Johan 1/25 and/or the Revell 1/32 scale kit, if made available. The Johan version had a very nicely done promo style body, but I just don't see a lot of interest in a Maverick/Comet to make it profitable as a new kit. george 53
I have two Comets an one Maverick. Still, I'd buy a few just to keep 'em comein.(New tools, that is)
62rebel
if it were a new tool along the lines of Revell's '68 Firebird or AMT's '67 Mustang, several! if it had multi-year building options; again; several! if it had accurate Pro Stock parts to depict era-correct racers, again, SEVERAL. just because JoHan made a ProStock version (and NO stock ones) is no reason to dismiss a new tool.... and this would give the kit manufacturers a chance to tool up a new, accurate SIX cylinder for us replica-stock Ford builders...... Cochese
Not into 70's junk. I did get a Gremlin - what a disappointment. I can't even fit the box on a shelf properly!
Erik Smith
just because JoHan made a ProStock version (and NO stock ones) is no reason to dismiss a new tool.... No, but the fact that a new tool will set the company back hundreds of thousands of dollars for a car with a relatively small, niche market is. I am no expert on the JoHan kits - I have two that are old projects - but mine both have stock parts and drag parts. I don't know what came in the kits originally, but... Here is one built up (more thrown together, I guess) stock: and here is the box:
Rob Hall
My impression is that in 1:1 these cars aren't as popular today as the Novas of the same era are, don't know how that translates to potential kit sales, but I don't think a new tool Maverick would sell as well as the Revell Nova.. charlie8575
I'm not really into them, but I'm into mainstreamers, and as long as the stock parts were included, I'd consider buying one. With advancing tool engineering and science, it's costing less money to make new tools, which is why we're seeing more chances being taken, so while I would not pronounce this a sure thing, I wouldn't dismiss this as a possibility, either, and it will probably be from one of the smaller companies, like Moebius or Galaxie. I could also see the revitalizing AMT giving this a shot. Charlie Larkin
Rob Hall
Who knows, if the tooling to the Maverick/Comet still exists, maybe IMC can issue one. IIRC, the Comet was last seen around 20 years ago along w/ the '69 Rambler, the '71 Cuda, and '69 AMX in Johan's 'Pro Street' series... GMP440
I wouldn't mind getting two or three 70' or 71' mavericks. If produced as a 3 in 1 ; stock, custom and drag more people would be inclined to buy.
Bartster
I'm not a big FoMoCo guy, but I would get one because of its oddity. I've never seen a kit in person & I like almost anything out of the ordinary.
