Steve Keck Posted April 30, 2012 Posted April 30, 2012 Why not ask them. http://www.scalefinishes.com/ or maybe it's covered in their FAQ

Jeff Johnston Posted April 30, 2012 Posted April 30, 2012 You can defintiely use a lacquer clear on the scale finishes paint. Its an acrylic enamel (I think thats what they call it), but its not like the water base acrylic like you'd normally think. Duplicolor is also acrylic enamel. I've pained several cars with Scale Finishes paint, and I have used 2 part urethane as well as Testors wet look and Tamiya clear with no issues whatsoever. JJ

tabsscale1 Posted May 1, 2012 Posted May 1, 2012 If it is enamel I wouldn't use any thing stronger than the Testors,Modelmasters, or Tamiya clears. As they may be to hot. Auotomotive Lacquers would make the enamels wrinkle. Those other brands are a pretty week lacquer paint. Eurothanes you shouldn't have any problems. I would defently test it before I shot the model so you don't ruin a paint job.
martinfan5 Posted May 1, 2012 Author Posted May 1, 2012 Todd, I dont use automotive clear coats, but I am going to test it first, I did by a box of plastic spoons for reason
cruz Posted May 1, 2012 Posted May 1, 2012 You can also try polishing and working with the paint itself, might not even need a clear coat.
