raisin27 Posted May 22, 2012 Posted May 22, 2012 This is what I built for the Revell contest. Been really pressed for time of late so I was only able to do a box stock build...........Oh well, maybe next year I can come up with something better. Raisin Raisin
ValvEasy Posted May 22, 2012 Posted May 22, 2012 Revell makes a 'Detroit air's been unkind to me' version?! SWEET!!
Austin T Posted May 22, 2012 Posted May 22, 2012 I really like it,I also made a beater for the contest.I post pic's soon.
Lunajammer Posted May 22, 2012 Posted May 22, 2012 Excellent restrained and well thought out weathering. Good luck!
DanielG Posted May 22, 2012 Posted May 22, 2012 C'mon, you're not fooling anybody! You can't take pictures of your heap and pass them off as a model build.
Brizio Posted May 22, 2012 Posted May 22, 2012 Very nice I really like teh rust on it, it looks real!
ShawnS Posted May 22, 2012 Posted May 22, 2012 Awesome. Good job. But you forgot the NOT FOR SALE SO DONT ASK sign in the window that so many rusty classics have these days.

paul alflen Posted May 22, 2012 Posted May 22, 2012 RAISEN, IF YOU TAKING A CLASS ON WEATHERING FROM DR. CRANKEY, I'LL GIVE YOU AN A+GRADE IN THE CLASS.THAT MODEL LOOKS LIKE THE GUY WHO'S HELD ON TO THE REAL CAR ALL HIS LIFE AND IS/WAS GOING TO RESTORE IT. PROBLEM WAS HE LOST HIS INSIDE GARAGE STORAGE SPACE TO HIS WIFE'S CAR! NICE JOB!!1
Tom Setzer Posted May 22, 2012 Posted May 22, 2012 Nice weathering, Great Beater. Good Luck In The Contest!

Dominik Posted May 23, 2012 Posted May 23, 2012 Coooool Stang! Also the wheels are my personal eyecatcher! Well done.
Webb Posted May 23, 2012 Posted May 23, 2012 VERY realistic! Love the flat tires. How did you do that?
robertw Posted May 26, 2012 Posted May 26, 2012 It's a shame to leave a GT 350 in that rusted out shape, perhaps for next year you can do a body off restoration on the car.
raisin27 Posted May 26, 2012 Author Posted May 26, 2012 (edited) VERY realistic! Love the flat tires. How did you do that? Thanks, for the tires i cut a flat spot off the bottom with an xacto knife, heated the area till it was close to dripping rubber, then pushed it into a flat surface which causes the bottom to bulge out slightly. The70judgeman Posted May 26, 2012 Posted May 26, 2012 Very convincing Midwest "rust belt" car. Not an uncommon sight around here.
