Either way, until they are on the shelf it doesn't really matter does it?

That does rather say it all, doesn't it?

Either way, I'm salivating for that '50 Olds and the '57 Ford.

Like I said in a few of my posts, Revell notoriously puts releases out there on the public side of their website saying that kit X is coming out in Month Y, when it doesn't really come out until the following month.

Case in point, the 1/16 Peterbilt says it is a June release......anyone see them on the shelves with the rest of the June releases? No? That's because it is a July release. The '04 Corvette, and the GSX are in the same boat, not July releases, but August releases.

Didn't wake up on the wrong side of the Loonie, but when I am offering release info, that isn't available as public knowledge, because I think it might be a nice thing to do to let you all know when items are coming out, and then get called out on it, and basically told that I don't know what I am talking about, well I think most people would get a little perturbed about it.

Been doing this a long time....and I see time and time again Revell post inaccurate release dates for kits on the public side of the website, its nothing new, and thought I could clear up the questions and rumors about the new releases, but apparently it isn't appreciated around here.

One person's comments should not be extrapolated for all MCM forum members, so keep posting the info, Scott. It's great (and appreciated) to have someone who is a Revell Preferred Partner on the forum providing that info for everyone...even if a few disagree with that info. ^_^

This is the updates as of today from Revell on their dealer website. I would say that the releases for August are probably a lock, but Sept. and Oct. could (and probably will) change a bit the closer to those months we get, seems like alot of releases (especially since I took out the non-automotive kits), than Revell normally puts out....we shall see if they really do put them all out when they say. As per usual, these releases get to their Preferred Partner Dealers around the last week of the month, and out to every one else a week or 2 later.

looks like the July reissues are hitting the stores now, the GMC with Plow it out now

I haven't gotten my notice that they were sent, but that doesn't necessarily mean anything

I don't see the 57 Ford on the list?

Nope, not yet, list only went to October and not there.

Any word on a stock 40 Ford Coupe being released any time soon?

I doubt that version will be reissued for a long time, with both the convertible and coupe currently available.

Keep your fingers crossed and maybe in October at iHobby Revell will have something to announce.

Yes, at IHobby they will have their stuff together for the first half of 2013 I am sure.

The remaining kits on the books with no release date attached to them are:

85-1970 1/25 Snap Humvee

85-4012 1/24 '92 Firebird Formula

85-4017 1/25 Dodge Ram Pickup

85-4034 1/24 Ferrari 599 GTO (this is a re-box of the Revell Germany kit due out in September, so anyone that wants one of these, save your pennies and wait for the Revell USA boxing...usually about $10-$15 cheaper for the same kit)

85-4283 1/25 1957 Ford Custom 2 n 1

85-4909 1/25 Willys Street Rod

85-4916 1/25 Sox/Martin '67 Plymouth GTX

85-4018 1/24 '87 Buick GNX

85-4019 1/24 '64-1/2 Mustang Convertible

85-4995 1/25 Stacey David's Rat Roaster

85-4999 1/24 Boot Hill Express

85-4035 1/24 Original Mini Cooper

And a few Revell Germany kits yet to have a date for yet:

07092 1/24 MiniCooper 60er Jahre

07406 1/24 Kenworth Dump Truck

As well, Revell has been making some noise about going after a Nascar license again, and have been putting a few feelers out to gauge the interest. I would love to see them do the modern cars (as well as the Nationwide as I personally think the Mustangs, Challengers and for 2013 the Camaro look much more interesting), but as well would love to see them do the late '60s to late '70s cars as well.

I'm wondering if they will be able to shorten the lead times on the development of modern Nascar racers, something you don't have to worry about, when you're releasing something like a Petty Superbird.

Also any news if they will be WOF or full glue kits?

At this point it is just some feelers they are putting out to gauge interest. But being Revell, I would think they would think that they would be full glue kits.

As long as the Nascar license doesn't end up shooting the retail on them through the roof, they should be OK. The Round 2 kits are cool and all, but they are just a simple snap kit, and pricey at that for a snap kit.

im sorry if this was covered before and i was too lazy to see it, but how "tom daniels"-ized is that badman chevy? by that i mean, is it cartooned up a lot like most of his designs or is it more down to earth and an actual decent reproduction of a chevy gasser? how is the motor and chassis detail?

thanks for any guidance, usually i dont mess with tom daniels stuff but this one looks nice judging from the artwork anyhow.

It's closer to real than fantasy show rod. The blown small block Chevy is basic, and the headers look more like Z-11(?) aluminum exhaust manifolds, but the engine looks OK...but pretty basic. The interior has custom bucket seats from an earlier issue, separate rearend and leaf springs, but the driveshaft is molded as one with the rearend IIRC. The basics to recognize it as a '55 Chevy are still there, and the added "gasser" type parts (solid front axle, blower, ladder bars) are a bit dated, but I think this is one of the more enjoyable old school/retro kits. The red tinted glass is an odd but neat feature, except for the hood scoop- that just looks weird.

The rear American Racing 200-S "Daisy" wheels aren't too bad, either.
