Ok, great… I’ll get to work tonight.

No hurry Ryan. I honestly have no idea how long it'll take me to getting around to the car.

Here you go, Steve. I did a test print on a regular sheet of paper and it printed out very nicely. This is a scan directly from my unbuilt kit, scanned at 300 dpi.

Hello everyone, maybe I should’ve started a new thread for this but, since you all seem to be very experienced modelers, I thought it might be appropriate just to ask this here. For years, ever since I’ve been building model cars, I have used spray paint. Specifically, testors brand. When I was a kid, I had a Testors airbrush but I never got really good or experienced with it. Lately, I have been building models and, typically, I am pleased with the way that they turn out but then I see some of the results that a lot of you have gotten and the paint finishes on your models are absolutely beautiful. So, as a spray paint guy, I am thinking it would be nice to start getting into using an airbrush but I am completely lost on where to begin. Can anybody point me in the right direction as far as what is the best airbrush for the best price and what exactly you all do to get the smooth, mirror shine finishes that you get? Any advice would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance for your help!

You should start a new thread or do a search - lots of information about airbrushes on the forum.

On the topic of Fujimi kits, is there a definitive list of which are full detail and which are curbside? I've heard some of the full detail kits have been sold without the Enthusiast designation.

I’ve never seen one, or at least not an up to date one. A whole lot have never had a full detail option. As for the Enthusiast Models, your best bet is to locate one that is definitely an EM kit on Scalemates, and look at the “timeline”. For the 911, for example, they quietly re-released the early 911S and 911R in ordinary-looking boxes with all the EM parts a couple of years back. Which made a couple of my eBay saved searches irrelevant…

best,

M.

I got the Lamborghini Countach 5000 Special, and it's full detail. I think such is the case for their other Countach kits; someone correct me if I'm wrong. I also have the Porsche 911 Turbo and 1969 911S, which are also full detail. When I bought those Porsches, I also was looking at their upcoming reissue (I think it's out now) 911 Slantnose, but found out it has no engine, so I passed. Hope this helps, and if others want to chime in for other Fujimi kits, please feel free!!!

I can verify that the Fujimi Land Cruiser 80 is an awful kit that has a shallow interior and is definitely closer to 1/22 scale. The E30 BMW kits are also pretty poor.

There are definitely two versions of the LP400 Countach...one full detail and one de-contented.

I went through this just recently, making sure I got the full-detail version, as some box photos are identical...but one says "enthusiast series" on it, and photos online of the contents back this up.
