72 Charger Posted September 21, 2012 Posted September 21, 2012 This is one of those cars that I rushed to finish and it turned out to be one of the best . I only had just enuf paint to cover it once (no second coat) lovely kit to biuld enjoy comments welcome Doobie
jamesG Posted September 21, 2012 Posted September 21, 2012 looks good. could use a little more detail in the engine bay though.
72 Charger Posted September 21, 2012 Author Posted September 21, 2012 Yes i agree i could but time and family got in the way lol Doobie
crazyjim Posted September 21, 2012 Posted September 21, 2012 Looking good, Doobie. The BMF must have taken some time.
58 Impala Posted September 21, 2012 Posted September 21, 2012 Still a nice build even without a lot of engine detail. The 58 is a great looking car.
72 Charger Posted September 21, 2012 Author Posted September 21, 2012 Thanks guys apart from around the windows there isnt a lot of BMF all the side trim is from the kit. The hardest bit was doing the red over the roof trying not to get any bleed under the masking tape I want to do another one when i find one just becuse i loved biulding it but i would do a lot more detail Doobie
Ramfins59 Posted September 21, 2012 Posted September 21, 2012 Great job David. The '58 Chevy is one of my all time favorite cars, and this Revell kit really does it justice.... I love all the chrome side trim as separate pieces because this car is a bear to foil.
W-Machine Posted September 21, 2012 Posted September 21, 2012 Looking good, Doobie. The BMF must have taken some time. That's what I was thinking.
72 Charger Posted September 21, 2012 Author Posted September 21, 2012 Thanks richard I love the 50's cars this is one of my favourties too the trim was a bit of a pig to remove from the tree and remove the chrome Doobie
58 Impala Posted September 21, 2012 Posted September 21, 2012 The Revell kit is a little easier to BMF. The AMT kit is a lot of work to BMF, I know it took me 2 or 3 nights to do one.
72 Charger Posted September 21, 2012 Author Posted September 21, 2012 Ive never biult or see one im guessing they are hard to come by now though . I would love to do one just to compair them Doobie
72 Charger Posted September 21, 2012 Author Posted September 21, 2012 Thanks im still surprised that it came out as good as it did the paint is thin i ran out of red just on the last pass of the can Doobie
MrObsessive Posted September 21, 2012 Posted September 21, 2012 Gotta love those one model year Chevies!! That looks really great and yes, I'd rather foil this one than the '58 AMT one I did years ago! Much easier to do since the trim is a lot more defined. Excellent work!

Thanks MrObsessive ive seen some of your work and for you to say it looks great is a real compliment .Do you have any pics of the convertible roof frame finished. Did it work ok sorry cant remember what the car was Thanks again. Doobie
phil-east Posted September 22, 2012 Posted September 22, 2012 it looks fantastic, i built this kit not long ago and loved it. it's certainly one of the best kits i've ever built.
72 Charger Posted September 22, 2012 Author Posted September 22, 2012 What you takin bout lol Doobie thanks
Harry P. Posted September 22, 2012 Posted September 22, 2012 Looks very good to me. Nice clean and sharp foil work. I can see the thinness of the paint if you look along the panel lines, but aside from that, a very nice job. I'd say it's a keeper!
