RandyB. Posted October 5, 2012 Posted October 5, 2012 I had this kit ninety percent completed when I lost interest in it and after finishing my Moebius 1955 Chrysler C-300 I decided to finish it. Typical old '60's tooling so it looks a little more rougher around the edges than some of the newer tooled kits of today but none the less I still appreciate being able to still get these old kits. It is a bit of a challenge to make these old kits look presentable which is part of the fun building them, Having said that, here is my finally finished 1962 Buick Electra 225. Thanks for checking it out.
crazyjim Posted October 5, 2012 Posted October 5, 2012 I forget how loooonnnnngggggggg those cars were. Nice build.
TooOld Posted October 5, 2012 Posted October 5, 2012 Beautiful ! Nice details , even the turn signal lamps !
Harry P. Posted October 5, 2012 Posted October 5, 2012 Looks pretty good to me, too. But I'd paint the "BUICK" lettering silver (using a small brush and a big magnifier!).
Guest Johnny Posted October 5, 2012 Posted October 5, 2012 Great looking land yacht! Love the look of those big old Buicks!

Thanks everyone Harry they are painted. Didn't show up too well I guess with the lighting the way it was. Edited October 5, 2012 by RandyB.
Simon Posted October 7, 2012 Posted October 7, 2012 Really nice Buick. The older kits do present a few challenges, in terms of parts fit and overall detail, but this is a lovely clean build.
Harry P. Posted October 8, 2012 Posted October 8, 2012 Thanks everyone Harry they are painted. Didn't show up too well I guess with the lighting the way it was. Ok. You pass!
High octane Posted October 8, 2012 Posted October 8, 2012 Nice job on that Buick "boulevard barge" Randy.
unclescott58 Posted May 2, 2014 Posted May 2, 2014 Lovely! I expect to finish mine in the next week or two. Love '62 Buicks. I use to own a real '62 LeSabre. No where as nice as an Electra 225, but nice none the less. I also know somebody who presently owns a very nice fullsize '62 Wildcat, in basically the same color as you paint your kit. Again, very nice job. I like it. Scott Aho
Jay t. Posted May 2, 2014 Posted May 2, 2014 Good looking build. I think the old tooled kits seem more accurate as far as body proportions than most new kits these days.
StevenGuthmiller Posted May 2, 2014 Posted May 2, 2014 Nice job Randy! They can be a little challenging, especially the interiors which can be little more than a "blob" but I feel it's the sign of a really good builder if you can take a simple kit like this & make it look this nice. But, then again, I may be a little bias. These old kits are right in my wheel house! I think you passed with flying colors! Steve
StevenGuthmiller Posted May 2, 2014 Posted May 2, 2014 I do have one critisizm Randy. You seem to have forgotten to foil the bright work trim on the lower rear fender ahead of the rear bumper. Steve
