charlie8575
Are the exploding gas tank, faulty park pawl and over-pressurizing Firestone 500s replicated too? In all seriousness, nice job on that. That Sand beige looks like it'll work well for a lot of the tan/covert/saddle/ginger interior tones used in the 1970s. Chuck Most
Sweet! Love that orange- kind of fitting given the incendiary nature of the early Pintos too, when you think about it.

lanesteele240
Keep that thing near a fire extinguisher. The fuel tank may blow at any second. That is one ugly car. But that is an awesome build. We had one when i was a kid. It was doodoo green. I hated getting picked up from school. I made mom park at the end of the block and i walked to the car. One day dad told us he got us a "new" car. It was a wrecked ford escort. Come to think about it, he must not have liked us much.
Ace-Garageguy
Love love love your Pinto. Beautiful paint, as always. Actually, for those of us old enough to remember and who actually OWNED some, Pintos were pretty cool cars. The first ones with the little 1600cc English Ford engine (the basis for the Lotus Twin-Cam) had front disc brakes, and handled pretty well. I had one, which was a match for an MGB, performance-wise; much more useful, and always started in the rain. Also had a later 2-liter car with a cam, headers and 2 side-draft Weber carbs that was pretty quick and surprised a lot of BMW drivers. And the only time they exploded was when someone stopped suddenly in front of something big, moving fast. The media hysteria and greed-happy lawyers made the car out to be a deathtrap, and it wasn't. Ace a friend of mine had a 71 with one of those engines and it was a cool car. l had a 76 in 1981 when l was 16 and enjoyed it. it was a decent car and l am going to build one like my 1;1 l owned. the float kept sticking and washed the rings down and it began to smoke so l traded it for a dodge pick up truck. thanks for the comments everyone... Lunajammer
Lovely clean build Carl. Who can't love the Pinto? Well, I love to look at it anyway, a sentimental favorite. No offense Bill but our family '73 was a piece of #$%. Had to take a running charge at hills. Engine was shot by 70K miles. But it was a very handsome wood paneled wagon.
