om617 Posted November 19, 2013 Posted November 19, 2013 Finally got the Fujimi wheels I ordered off eBay.. they look great and will look even better on the 308 I'm building.. I was really disappointed when i got mine. The tires are way to narrow for the wheels. I bought them because i wanted some meaty tires, not to look part of some stretch and poke fashion. Maby it was just mine and these are like they should be.
crazyjim Posted November 19, 2013 Posted November 19, 2013 Looks like I'm going to be the next owner of a '74 VW baja bug. Supposed to be here Saturday. I'll take pics then.
KingSix Posted November 19, 2013 Posted November 19, 2013 Results of the trade for the 1:16 Chi Town Hustler ... Thanks to Jack
martinfan5 Posted November 19, 2013 Posted November 19, 2013 (edited) James won the race the we had, Fedex dropped mine off about an hour ago, our orders were shipped at the same time Edited November 19, 2013 by martinfan5
JamesW Posted November 19, 2013 Posted November 19, 2013 You guys had almost the exact same order too.
niteowl7710 Posted November 19, 2013 Posted November 19, 2013 James won the race the we had, Fedex dropped mine off about an hour ago, our orders were shipped at the same time That's misleading, I slept through the delivery guy yesterday. FedEx "lost" your package at the airport for 24 hours. Still beat you by 5 hours...
Chillyb1 Posted November 19, 2013 Posted November 19, 2013 Jonathan and James: Those Subaru Sambars are awesome! I didn't even know those existed.

niteowl7710 Posted November 19, 2013 Posted November 19, 2013 Jonathan and James: Those Subaru Sambars are awesome! I didn't even know those existed. They are brand new tooling (the kits are the same with the exception of the pick-up bed vs. cargo box) representing 2012 Sambars. They are little jewels of a kit too, about 130 parts, 4-5 part engines (nothing opens to see them so it wasn't all out), but the suspension is superb, chassis detail and interior detail are excellent, and there's even Yokohama tire engraving on the tiny (about the size of a Certs) tires. While the subject matter surely isn't up a lot of people's alleys, they show the excellent attention to detail Aoshima is putting in their "run of the mill" kits right now. Y2600 each, with the exchange rate, that's about $26.40...putting them cheaper than the MSRP on new Revell kits.
Rob Hall Posted November 19, 2013 Posted November 19, 2013 I may get one of the Sambars eventually...looks like it would be a neat little truck kit to go w/ the other little Japanese truck kit I have (tiny one w/ spare tire on the front, drawing a blank as to the name).

charlie8575 Posted November 20, 2013 Posted November 20, 2013 Is Tamiya making the Mk. II again? I might go grab one of those. I like old Jags. Charlie Larkin
KingSix Posted November 20, 2013 Posted November 20, 2013 I was really disappointed when i got mine. The tires are way to narrow for the wheels. I bought them because i wanted some meaty tires, not to look part of some stretch and poke fashion. Maby it was just mine and these are like they should be. Mine weren't like that at all.. weird. They are really BIG tires. I swapped the tires out though.. the "bigs & littles look wouldn't work to good on a Ferrari ..
Rob Hall Posted November 20, 2013 Posted November 20, 2013 Picked up the new Revell (RoG rebox) '68 Beetle, '69 Shelby GT500 convertible, and '84 Camaro Pro Stock at my LHS this afternoon. Their RPP allocation of '70 Cudas were long gone, it looks like.
tbill Posted November 20, 2013 Posted November 20, 2013 these came in the mail, and I happened to be in wally world and picked these up,
Daddyfink Posted November 20, 2013 Posted November 20, 2013 Scored at our monthly model car club meet.
jrherald420 Posted November 20, 2013 Posted November 20, 2013 I almost bought that Corvette Grand Sport on Sunday. How does it look?
Daddyfink Posted November 20, 2013 Posted November 20, 2013 This one looks awesome! There are two of them in the box!! You can get the same kit, basically, from Revell as they reboxed it in their own boxes. Biggest issue with this kit is the chassis. It has the mold reliefs on the wrong side of the tubing and they show when assembled. With some plastic rod and putty, that can be fixed easily.
gtx6970 Posted November 20, 2013 Posted November 20, 2013 (edited) One of the new Revell 1970 Hemi Cuda kits, I wanted one of the new AMT Ford race car haulers, but he didn't have one Edited November 20, 2013 by gtx6970
