Another delivery today. A couple of obscure models I picked up on Ebay. I love the design of the Chrysler, and the Mustang is for a project. Iceman Hemi Headers too.

Yep.  Sounds like Klaver.

When the Dodge arrives early next week, I'll check the label and see if he's the sender.

Woke up early and decided to run some errands. Nothing earth shattering, found a couple cans of primer at Ollie's & Harbor Freight finally restocked the miniature toolboxes. I'll use it for my airbrush & airbrush supplies storage.

I got these two Gaahleri airbrushes last week. I've been using a Gaahleri Mobius with good success, thought I'd get a couple others to try.

It appears you bought my build from Al Wickham.  He's a member of our model club.

This Tamiya 1977 P34 arrived today. I had been doing reasonably well with Amazon purchases. This is how it was hand delivered to me. There was no plastic bag/envelope. They just stuck the shipping label right onto the box top! Grrrr... The saving grace is that the contents were still sealed and fine. You can see my initial attempt at trying to remove the label.

Does anyone know of an easy way to remove what remains of the label. Comments/suggestions are welcome.

you could try warming it with a hair dryer and carefully picking at it

Attended a swap-meet in Shelby, NC, took some kits with me. Scored a damaged Hubley '62 Ford wagon, will be a great parts car for my crew-cab '53 Ford build and a '62 Galaxie body I have that needs chrome pieces. Also got the Monogram Midget racer, a Revell parts pack Oldsmobile engine, and a set of 3D printed drag tires, front and rear. Plus brought home a smidge over $300 cash for the kits I sold. Pretty good day.

Another fun filled day of adoptions. First to Hobby Lobby for the only model they sell I do not have. A Boss 302. Then a trip to goodwill netted an unopened Yellow Lambo, and a trip to a Big city Wal-mart and I found two that had been illuding me for years. The Monte, and the Nova.

Goo Gone in the orange bottle will handle that - spray it on, let it soak, remove the label

I started with Les Budge's suggestion with a hairdryer. Thanks Les. Jim, I think I will also try your suggestion on an inconspicuous portion of the box lid. With the hairdryer method, the paper portion of the label came off, but not the adhesive. If the Goo Gone does not adversely affect the box top, I think I'll start by applying light amounts with a Q-Tip. Thanks for your suggestion.

Don't use Goo Gone on that box it will destroy it ,Goo Gone only works on glass and hard surfaces ,use a low tack tape to get the adhesive off it will take some time but go low it will work !

I've had luck with wd40 on plastic containers. I think it might work with this. Wd40 will get that sticky residue off to.

Thanks Elliot. I have no doubt that WD40, like Goo Gone, will remove any adhesive as well. I might be hoping for the impossible, but would like to minimize damage to the box top.

I have plenty of Tamiya tape. I'll try that first and then the"chemical" methods. Thanks.

Bill,

Ive had really good luck removing those pesky labels when they are cold.  When UPS leaves a box on the porch in February with negative 30 temps they almost fall off themselves.  If you have opened the kit ,Id put the top in a plastic bag and put it in the freezer for a few hours.

I checked the label after the Drat arrived and it's him. It's sure a small world.

A while back I saw here on the forum where somebody had scored an ancient 1/24 scale Hawk W163 Mercedes for next to nothing...and it was complete with a display engine.

I had several acquired over many years, and NOT ONE had the engine.

So this was a kinda impulse purchase. 100% complete, engine and all (though most of the parts are off the sprues), nothing buggered, even decent decals and an excellent box, and not a terrible price considering what some folks are asking.

Our club has a winter picnic every year and some of us bring builds to sell/trade.  Al usually buys a few.
