A modeler named mike Posted May 7 Posted May 7 Arrived today in the mail. I aquired it in a flawless trade with rattle can man. One can never have enough show rods. 8
Ace-Garageguy Posted May 7 Posted May 7 1/24 Italeri Ferrari 275 GTS/4 All the Italeri 275s are getting pretty spendy (if you can even find one), so when I came across one that was kinda reasonable, I bought it. I'm pretty sure I already have it's GTB/4 brother, but a 250 GT California is on the way from another source...and that should be the end of the vintage Ferrari grails. 5

Thanks Gary, Same here including, two Beer Wagons, two Tijuana Taxis and two 1/2 One-Arm Bandit kits that have new decals coming from STS decals. It's not a drinking or gambling problem i have, it's just a styrene addiction. 1 1

I've been filling in the perceived blank spots in my collection from time to time with the "harder-to-find" kits. My wife is supportive, if not actively encouraging... Does STS have any Monogram Dogcatcher decals, d'ya think? Edited May 8 by redscampi

When I talked to Patrice at the NNL East show about reproducing my original but damaged One-Arm Bandit decals she said that she believed that she had them on file, but took my set in case. Now the Dog Catcher, that's one that eludes me.. I'm jealous.. are you looking to add a name to your Will..lol

I'm jealous.. are you looking to add a name to your Will..lol I have enough heirs but I don't think they care about my models, except in how they're going to get rid of them. So, I'll keep ya in mind! I actually have two Dog Catchers, one obtained through a trade here, and the other in an eBay lot. Both are/were significantly gluey, but I'm working on repairs from time to time. I snagged a Sand Shark with a couple of short-shotted body parts which will provide suspension, wheels, tires etc. I was able to partially lift the decals from one of them by applying clear Scotch tape and pulling gently away, but they're too damaged to reuse. 1
Street Rod Posted May 8 Posted May 8 Got these in last week. The Galaxie will be used with a 4 door resin body from SMH to make a Mayberry patrol car. I thought the trucks looked cool and would be a couple of fun builds. 7
niteowl7710 Posted May 8 Posted May 8 Realized I haven't updated here for awhile. So I got both the PZY/Kitbox and Alpha Model versions of the SF90XX Also here at the last two boxes from HLJ. The most recent one arrived yesterday and the de minimis still stands from Japan so no tariffs there. 3
Ace-Garageguy Posted May 8 Posted May 8 (edited) Nice thing about being home in the daytime (broken ribs) is that I'm here when the post arrives. All the way from Japan, 1/24 Italeri Ferrari 250GT California, factory sealed, considerably cheaper than any I've seen Stateside recently. Opened it to inventory just to make sure. Nice kit, appears to be well-proportioned, reasonably accurate in its representation of mechanical guts, etc. HOWEVER...I thought this would be the end of my collecting scale Ferraris, but I just now saw Hiroboy did a 1/24 250 TDF (one of the real Ferraris with which I have considerable experience), so the hunt continues... Saw it on the Hiroboy site. Duh. https://www.hiroboy.com/124_Ferrari_250_TDF_VerA_MultiMaterial_Kit_Reissue--product--10071.html EDIT: However, after having researched the various versions, I believe I'll use a styrene 250GT donor for guts and scratchbash the body. Ought to be able to get pretty close, especially considering that no two coachbuilt Ferrari bodies from the period were absolutely identical anyway, and they tend to diverge even farther after being raced, crashed, repaired, and eventually restored. Not much fun involved! Have they started tacking on a tariff fee yet on stuff from Japan? I've been working up a HLJ shopping list and am dreading the possibility of a big extra fee. 1

hedotwo Posted May 9 Posted May 9 Today's mail.... I'm speechless. I think it was here in this thread that someone mentioned these headlights from Scale Productions in Germany. After reading the post I looked it up and decided to give them a shot. I ordered two of each size as long I was paying shipping and was planning on having to wait for them anyway. I can't believe the quality of these... they look like real headlights. I hope the pics show the quality. Not too long a wait either. It was 4/24 when I ordered and they arrived this morning. 9
Rob Hall Posted May 9 Posted May 9 I got some neat Chevy truck grilles and Beaumont conversion parts from Canuck 3D in the mail.
Ace-Garageguy Posted May 9 Posted May 9 (edited) Another 1/24 Heller E-type coupe, this time molded in white. Unfortunately the kit had been cherry-picked for its rear suspension and much of the interior, but after all was said and done, I can't complain about the price. Though not buildable as a factory car, it may become a Ford smallblock-powered hot rod, with a 9"-based rear end... ...kinda like my Pontiac-powered Ferrari 250 GTO hot-rod.
