FoMoCo66 Posted Sunday at 01:19 AM Posted Sunday at 01:19 AM Here's the haul from the MIME NNL 6 hosted by the glue brothers club. A moebius 65 comet, moebius 65 chevy 2 gasser, moebius 66 f100, amt 34 ford 5 window, amt 61 ranchero, a revell 57 ford wagon, a tamiya paint stand, and a built up monogram t all for $100. I also made quite a few new friends at the show, being as it was my first model show. One of those friends is someone I never expected to meet, an aussie, Alan Barton. I got to talkin' to him about the car scene down there (literally ). He brought some nice models that I admired. But at the end of the show he gave me some of his vacuum formed models, a streamliner land speed car, 2 amt roadster tonneau covers, a model a track nose, a model a belly pan, and a custom fiat dragster body. All realy cool bodys and definitely appreciate him givin' them to me. 9
meechum68 Posted Sunday at 01:56 AM Posted Sunday at 01:56 AM I love my Tamiya paint stand, it's why I have 2...and seriously looking to add one more to my tools! 1
FoMoCo66 Posted Sunday at 06:29 PM Posted Sunday at 06:29 PM Just got back from the Midwest ford fest in Ottumwa Iowa. Found this original sealed Johan Pinto funny car. Paid $35 for it. Its pretty cool that the box still has its original stickers on it for $5.75, then it got discounted for $4.31. 11

Sounds like youve had a Great Weekend ! 2

It is my recollection that the "big" LHS in my area had to discount Johan kits to make them go away as well, especially the Plymouth wagon. 2

junkyardjeff Posted Sunday at 07:28 PM Posted Sunday at 07:28 PM Picked up this kit just for the speed equipment to use on a 60s 49 build. 3
LOBBS Posted Sunday at 08:17 PM Posted Sunday at 08:17 PM Slow boat from China finally arrived today. I had been searching high and low for a wide hexagonal photoetch mesh to use for grille material on my pro-touring builds that has larger openings similar to what's used on modern performance cars. Found this stuff from Killerbody that's intended for 1/10 RC cars. It's openings are roughly 3MM or 3 scale inches which is perfect for what I was looking for. Couldn't find it state side at all so I had to order from overseas. As long as it took to arrive my only regret is that I didn't get more sheets. 2 1
Mark Posted Sunday at 10:27 PM Posted Sunday at 10:27 PM Went to an outdoor car show/swap meet last week. Didn't buy anything there, but one guy I know who set up there told me he was having a garage sale next Saturday (yesterday). Bought a bunch of parts bags, partial kits, and various stuff. The BJ/Bear kit is 1/32 scale. AMT used solid vinyl tires in their truck kits; 1/32 scale tractor-trailer tire makes a pretty decent 1/25 scale medium duty truck tire (as in: ramp truck). Two are missing (along with some other parts) but sixteen of them are still here. The chassis can be cut down for use under a Jimmy Flintstone phantom cabover body, the trailer and fifth wheel setup might be usable for something. The cab sleeper unit has a raised section with windows that might be usable for a custom trailer or something. The Moebius Nova wasn't here, but some parts were including all of the tires (they'll make decent gasser front tires) plus the entire engine and both transmissions. The Powerglide is the best one in scale, I'll have to cast that. The Rat Rod '29 pickup is missing the roadster pickup body and the bed, but the phone booth cab, chassis parts, fenders, and the Rat Rod wheels and tires (not in the current issue kit) are there. I believe the Malco Gasser Mustang is all there. I've already got one, this chassis will get used under something else like a Henry J. There's a Lindberg Dodge cabover in there. I bought it for parts but it might be all there. I'm going to check the parts against the instruction sheet for this as well as the Malco Gasser. The Piranha might be missing the fuel tank...big deal. That chassis will slide under something else. There's a '63 Nova wagon (annual kit), a couple of '65 Chevelle wagons, and an El Camino. I need another Nova like a hole in the head, but this one is in decent shape (even the chrome looks good). I've got a Moebius Nova gasser chassis (bought without body) waiting for this. I bought the Chevelle wagons and El Camino in one bag. I needed another wagon roof to stretch one for an Olds Vista Cruiser (they're longer in the rear door area), and also noticed that it and the Camino are early reissues with red taillight lenses and chrome bezels. Those look like they will come apart without a struggle, and can then be cast to get better parts for the more recent issue kits. There's some other stuff in there: numerous partial chrome trees, tons of wheels and chassis parts, a Monogram SVO Mustang (busted body, untouched engine), Revell '66 Suburban parts (no body, but untouched chassis). A couple of huge boxes of entertainment for the coming winter... 6

They rented it from me for the first movie, then I sold it to them for the second. One of my neighbors at the time had a picture car company and asked if they could use it. I have pictures of the car with the cast from the movie. I got it in 1986. It looked like a well-weathered version of this: 5
Donny Posted yesterday at 03:27 AM Posted yesterday at 03:27 AM Not much on offering today, well that I could afford, picked up this '25 T kit. Happy with that. Don 5
johnyrotten Posted 9 hours ago Posted 9 hours ago My wife found me a market place score. Ten bucks, bags still sealed. 5
Ace-Garageguy Posted 9 hours ago Posted 9 hours ago (edited) After seeing the hyper expensive models of the old Honda F1 car posted elsewhere on the forum last week, and somebody mentioning that Hasegawa made a 1/24 kit of it, I went in search of one. Miraculously, a 1996 issue popped up for a little over $23, delivered. Nice Mr. Postman dropped it off today. I'm happy. EDIT: It was sealed. Edited 8 hours ago by Ace-Garageguy punctiliousness 5

A modeler named mike Posted 6 hours ago Posted 6 hours ago The FusionFirm ultra shining fluid silver foil that a few of you guys mentioned getting, arrived today. I tried it on a black plastic spoon and I'm amazed at how well it reflects. Unbelievable.. thanks for turning me on to something new. Yeah, that's Avocado Green in the background. Hey, if it's still working, why replace it.. lol 3 3
Vessey Posted 5 hours ago Posted 5 hours ago Just got a bagged 2000 Monte Carlo NASCAR kit, sans decals and instructions. Needed some serious cleaning, but the price was right. $3.84 after a $10 credit on Mercari... Shipped! Haven't decided what to do with it, probably put the chassis under a street car body. If anyone can post or link the instructions I'd appreciate it.
