Now about those gas prices...............!!!!!!

You think your gas is high?

You should see the price in the Chicago area. We have the dubious distinction of being blessed with the highest ga$$$ prices in the country.

And that's why I shop online. :D

I got a new driveway...all but $6,000 worth. So my model budget is done for a while. I did pick up three kits at the September Showdown this past weekend...'37 Ford, '40 Ford street rod and '41 Willys street rod. Also picked up some goodies from Reps and Mins of MD.

I just ordered a set of Pegasus 23" wheels for my '70 Wildcat and I have a new S13 Silvia on the way from Hobbylink Japan that should also arrive with 2 sets of 19" Volks wheels. I'm waiting for the new Testors paints to hit the shelves so I can get back into building again.

I just received this morning via my email, notification from Hobbylink Japan that a Fujimi 1/20 Ferrari 126C2 1982 San Marino, the car Gilles Villeneuve was driving at the time of his fatal accident, is in route to me from Japan. I have all of the Tamiya 1/20 F1 series, and the 2 great kits from Modelers (I wish they were still around making F1 kits) so this will be a welcome addition. I will be adding a driver fiqure of Gilles to complete this car.

Last night was the Long Island LIARS Club meeting. Our faithful kit vendor Paul was there with a lot of goodies. I picked up a Jimmy Flintstone '30 Ford chopped coupe body for $9.

Absolutely nothing! There's plenty of stuff I would LIKE to buy....but that ain't gonna happen any time soon :(

I did get some projects closer to completion, and started 8 more this week.

I should have my Jeff Gordon 2004 Brickyard 400 winner done this weekend...

I started:

Factory Stock 49 Mercury

hot rod 32 Ford

custom 72 Corvette

as yet undecided 54 Bel Air

1960 Chevy SD custom

34 Ford sedan custom

29 Ford hot rod

1976 #30 Dale Earnhardt Army S-3 Laguna

I also did much of the chassis and interior work on my custom Revell Mercury. I am going to spray paint the frame, interior, and engine and I need to do a couple more coats of paint on the body too. Plus clear on the body.

I also got 3 of my 1/64 NASCAR models close to completion- 2006 Sterling Marlin Centrix, 2000 Jeff Fuller Viagra and 1995 Kyle Petty Coors Light Silver Bullit. I got my 1995 Ward Burton painted, and the interior painted too, but now I am waiting for the decals to arrive.

Nothing from the shop, but the mailman did drop off five new sets of Aoshima Wheels (I have learned, get 'em while you can) Three sets of the Volks GT-V, one GT-C and one of the Wedssport SA-70. The mailman also dropped off another russian rangefinder, but that is another story and the reason the model budget is shot!!!

Lets see' I picked up a tube of tamiya putty, some 2000 grit sand paper and a 1/24 tamiya lotus super 7, a steal for only 13 bucks. Got all of this today. This past saturday I picked up a Italeri ford 9000 wrecker to go along with the peterbilt wrecker my wife got me for my B-day in august.

Took my kids to the LHS tonight, picked up a Fujimi Porsche 928GT for myself and a Revell C5 vette snap kit for my 7 year old daughters first build, which we finished tonight in under an hour. She enjoyed every minute of it, and is already begging for another kit. looks like I am helping create the future generation of modeler!!!! :D

I got a set of Slixx Dale Creasy Craftsman decals for the Revell Firebird funny car kit. That's the one with circular saw blades around each wheel well. It goes with all of the MAD magazine sponsored cars.

No decent model shops anywhere round hear! (South Hams, Devon) So I've just ordered fujimi's S54A four-door Nissan Skyline 2000GT-A, and a Nissan 330 Cedric 4 Dr HT 2000 SGL-E by Aoshima, from Hobbylink Japan. :) and buying a second hand compressor off a friend next week for £40 as he's getting a new one for his business. All I have to do now is try and find somewhere to build my models as no spare room what so ever! :(

Last week I picked up the Revell '56 Nomad. I can't believe I went this long without owning one!

Monday I bought my first DONK kit - '63 Impala - BUT...only because it can be built stock too.

Yesterday local goodguy VW Dave gave me some Duplicolor spray paint for my Revell '49 Merc.

Life is good. :(
