Rob Hall Posted April 5, 2012 Posted April 5, 2012 (edited) Well I am going to guess that there is a big difference between the stock wire wheels and the caddys lowrider wire wheels , I have an idea, going to look at some pics Yeah, the kit lowrider wheels are tiny...like 13 inch or so...stock ones would be 15 inch. Maybe the ones from the AMT '65 Riviera could be used... Edited April 5, 2012 by Rob Hall
martinfan5 Posted April 5, 2012 Posted April 5, 2012 Looking at some pics, the hubcaps from the 91 Caprice kit are close to the hubcaps that came on the 90's model caddy deville , so it could work, just need to make some changes to the outer part, the caddy hubcaps have wires on the outer part.
Rob Hall Posted April 5, 2012 Posted April 5, 2012 By the way, doing a Google image search on '1990 Cadillac Brougham' turns up a bunch of pics of stock and modified 4drs (the Revell kit is an '80-84 Coupe de Ville with 1990-1992 Brougham trim).
250 Testa Rossa Posted April 6, 2012 Posted April 6, 2012 Aardvark 1961 Maserati Birdcage. To be restored. http://public.fotki.com/KidCharlemagne/aardvark-maserati-b/
JamesW Posted April 6, 2012 Posted April 6, 2012 Hmmmm....nothing that I know of. Though a lot of the '80-90s Fleetwood Broughams had wire wheels.. I saw one somewhere that someone had built w/ wide whites and '59 Cadillac hubcaps which looked surprisingly good on it, IMO. Well I am going to guess that there is a big difference between the stock wire wheels and the caddys lowrider wire wheels , I have an idea, going to look at some pics I've got 2 sets of stock Caddy wheels and tires from the Johan 64 Caddy and Hearse.
JamesW Posted April 6, 2012 Posted April 6, 2012 I been wantin one of them. Wanna build an Ice Cream Truck. ALMOST had one on Ebay but I was outbid at the last sec.
martinfan5 Posted April 6, 2012 Posted April 6, 2012 That truck is cool, what scale is it?, and James, what would it take to get a set of the caddys wheels from you
Scuderia Posted April 6, 2012 Posted April 6, 2012 I won an auction for one of these. $8 after shipping. Not sure if i wanna kit bash with the AMT GT body or leave it..
W-409 Posted April 7, 2012 Posted April 7, 2012 Revell's New '77 Chevy Van and Jungle Jim's Vega FC. And some HotRod parts, I'll build few HotRods from those, and there are lots of parts too.
Big Daddy Posted April 7, 2012 Posted April 7, 2012 Missed the mailman on thursday so had to pick these up at the post office took a drive to the local hobby shop for these the aluminum rod will be for exhaust and drive shafts while the smaller tube will be for trying my hand at making wired dist. now i just have to find some .030 or .035 gauge wire, i made one with telephone/alarm wire but it seems to big (.024)
Olskoolrodder Posted April 7, 2012 Posted April 7, 2012 Just these... ...and will get some grouching if she finds out....shhhhhh!!!
crazyjim Posted April 7, 2012 Posted April 7, 2012 Use the telephone wire insulation for the boots Daryl. I used to use aluminum tubing for distributors but it was pointed out to me that it looks like wires coming out of a tube. Thankfully I was introduced to Fatkidd style distributors - there's a tutorial on here somewhere.
Lownslow Posted April 7, 2012 Posted April 7, 2012 loaded up on some supplies scored a 1/24 harley at hobby lobby
Joe Handley Posted April 7, 2012 Posted April 7, 2012 Not going to buying models or rc stuff for a long, looooooong time now......................
TurboKitty Posted April 8, 2012 Posted April 8, 2012 Got all of this over the last couple weeks from craigslist, in trade on here, local hobby shop, local thrift store, and from a garage sale. The poster reminded me of Captain Slow LOL and I got that on sale for 50% off along with the Revell 2010 Camaro w/ a 40 % off coupon from Hobby Lobby today. The two 1/24 diecasts are Bburago Alfa Romeo 75's (aka the Milano in the US). I'll be using the red one to make Jeremy Clarkson's car from the Top Gear Alfa Romeo Challenge since this car doesn't exist in plastic kit form. Some of the other kits here are also going to be made into various cars from Top Gear UK as well .
Joe Handley Posted April 8, 2012 Posted April 8, 2012 Wasn't that sign part of "The Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy" too Michelle?
peter31a Posted April 8, 2012 Posted April 8, 2012 Some cool stuff there, Michelle. And I have to agree about the poster. It suits Captain Slow to a T (or should I make that to a Tea?).
TurboKitty Posted April 8, 2012 Posted April 8, 2012 (edited) Wasn't that sign part of "The Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy" too Michelle? I'm not quite sure about that since I've never read the book(s) or watched the movie. I can ask my boyfriend though, since he has. All I know is that the poster was originally created to help boost the spirits of the British people during WWII and it's recently been turned into yet another Internet meme with numerous parodies. It reminds me of this and my boyfriend actually saw it and showed it to me, I just had to get it LOL. Edited April 8, 2012 by TurboKitty
JamesW Posted April 8, 2012 Posted April 8, 2012 Had to have somethin to use a set of the XS wheels on. And some Franklin Ink decals for the Revell 86 Monte Carlo and AMT/MPC 80 Monte Carlo.
martinfan5 Posted April 8, 2012 Posted April 8, 2012 James, you should bring the Celica to my foreign car CBP, I would love have you come join us
JamesW Posted April 8, 2012 Posted April 8, 2012 It won't be built for a while. In an article in the OTHER mag a few years ago was a resin body kit for it. I gotta go through my mags and see if I can figure out where to get it.

James no worries, well when you get around to building it, I hope you come and Join , I am not a big fan of this body style Celica, but I think a body kit will make it look better
