Ajay Posted January 1, 2013 Posted January 1, 2013 (edited) Not much of a post but my new year's resolution is to try & build more in 2013 so at least it's a start !. So far I've taken a slice out of the "c" pillars In an attempt to make the roof flow more gracefully into the trunk (I'm not too keen on the "stock" chop) and slanted the "b" pillars. Thanks for looking and Happy New Year. Cheers Andy Edited March 10, 2013 by Ajay
Custom Mike Posted January 1, 2013 Posted January 1, 2013 Looks like a good start Andy, any ideas on colors yet?
Modlbldr Posted January 1, 2013 Posted January 1, 2013 Looks like it has a nice flow to it now. Great stance too. Keep it up. Later-
Ajay Posted January 2, 2013 Author Posted January 2, 2013 Thanks for the replies guys. Mike, I'm thinking of painting it peugeot blaze yellow which despite the name is a gold metallic colour. Tom, the body is just resting on the floor at the moment (I tend to do the body first for some reason) but I'm hoping to modify the suspension so it sits lower than the kit ride height. Cheers Andy
Kustoms Illustrated Posted January 3, 2013 Posted January 3, 2013 Looks much, much better with the re-chop! Looking forward to following this build.
Ajay Posted January 6, 2013 Author Posted January 6, 2013 (edited) Just a quick update after a coat of primer Hope to get the colour coat on later. Thanks for looking Andy Edited March 10, 2013 by Ajay
JasonFL Posted January 9, 2013 Posted January 9, 2013 Man that looks mean slammed. Clean work on that top, everything flows real nicely. Can't wait to see more.
THarrison351 Posted January 10, 2013 Posted January 10, 2013 I have this kit, just not ready too commit. I'll watch for ideas.
Sam I Am Posted January 10, 2013 Posted January 10, 2013 I have always felt that the 46-8 Fords were the hardest to get a balanced chop on. They have such a BIG BULKY BULBOUS BUTT !!! When you chop them, it makes the BUTT look BIGGER YET !! Your chop flows so well, and with the tail dragger stance, it really pulls your attention AWAY from the HUGE BUTT !! Great job !!
Ajay Posted January 13, 2013 Author Posted January 13, 2013 (edited) Hi all, thanks for the replies. I managed to spray the basecoat last weekend but I've only just got round to taking a picture. The colour is Peugeot Blaze Yellow metallic - Zero paints dry matt so I need to clearcoat it but it's been too cold this weekend. Thanks for looking Andy Edited January 13, 2013 by Ajay
Custom Mike Posted January 14, 2013 Posted January 14, 2013 (edited) That color suits it perfectly Andy, and it looks like it went on nice and smooth, great job! Edited March 3, 2013 by Custom Mike
Ajay Posted March 3, 2013 Author Posted March 3, 2013 Just a quick update on where I am with the interior and engine plus a shot of the body after polishing out the clearcoat Thanks for looking Andy
Bernard Kron Posted March 3, 2013 Posted March 3, 2013 Love the re-chop and the color. Now that's a kustom!
Ajay Posted March 10, 2013 Author Posted March 10, 2013 Thanks Bernard & Glenn, porgress has been slow as I got sidetracked building a replica of my sisters Fiat 500 for her birthday in February but I have managed to finish the engine & interior and add the front windshield & grill. Next up is lowering the chassis !. Thanks for looking Andy
Blown03SVT Posted March 10, 2013 Posted March 10, 2013 The correction on the chop and the lowering changes the whole personality of this car. I digg it!
