maltsr Posted April 21, 2013 Posted April 21, 2013 (edited) After a short hiatus I seem to be back in building mode again, so in an effort to keep the momentum going I'm braving a thread in this section in the hope that I will keep this going. This is the old Cherry Pie kit, but as with a previous 30/31 build I have made the doors fit flush a la '32 Ford for a cleaner appearance. The chassis is from the AMT '32 Phantom Vicky but using the Revell dropped front axle/batwings from the '32 series. The wheels are my current favourite from Pegasus. Hope I haven't upset any purists Edited April 28, 2013 by maltsr
bpletcher55 Posted April 21, 2013 Posted April 21, 2013 PAUL ,THAT LOOKS GREAT NICE START ,THOSE WHEELS ARE SWEET!
Custom Mike Posted April 21, 2013 Posted April 21, 2013 Forget the purists Paul, that looks great so far!
Draggon Posted April 21, 2013 Posted April 21, 2013 I like it! Making those door fit flush sure changes the appearance. I'm going to have to adopt that when/and or of i build mine.
Modlbldr Posted April 22, 2013 Posted April 22, 2013 Wow! I'm glad I popped in on this one. That is beautiful. I really like those new Pegasus wheels on that. It has a great stance. Keep it up. Later-
maltsr Posted April 25, 2013 Author Posted April 25, 2013 Just about finished the engine, which is the flathead from the '32 Sedan. Only mod is added wiring through short pieces of aluminium tube for looms. Next task is to sort out the exhaust to complete the chassis work. Also gave the paint a quick polish with a sanding cloth, but not going for a super shine on this one.
TooOld Posted April 25, 2013 Posted April 25, 2013 Very sharp looking ! I love the color and the wheels !
maltsr Posted April 27, 2013 Author Posted April 27, 2013 Got the chassis finished today, remembered to fit the steering box and built a section of the exhaust from aluminium tube to marry the Revell manifolds to the AMT mufflers.
James2 Posted April 27, 2013 Posted April 27, 2013 Well done Paul. Looks good. Are those the new Pegasus wheels?
maltsr Posted April 27, 2013 Author Posted April 27, 2013 Thanks everyone. After a bit of modeller's block I've really enjoyed my last two builds. Well done Paul. Looks good. Are those the new Pegasus wheels? Yes James, they are the 'Sovereign' wheel/tyre set. I love these and have a couple more on hand for future projects
PowerPlant Posted April 27, 2013 Posted April 27, 2013 The wheels are my current favourite from Pegasus. Hope I haven't upset any purists What's a purist? Those wheels are sweet! I must get a set... Or, like, twelve
LacrosseBoss Posted April 28, 2013 Posted April 28, 2013 Every time I see someone's modifications to box stock here I become less and less of a purist Looks great so far.
