Custom Hearse Posted April 26, 2013 Posted April 26, 2013 I wanna be on the price is right! This is one of the prizes... http://autos.yahoo.com/blogs/motoramic/ferrari-458-spyder-becomes-pricest-prize-ever-price-181441219.html
slusher Posted April 26, 2013 Posted April 26, 2013 Always liked that show as a kid. With prizes like that would make most guys to give it a shot...
W-Machine Posted April 26, 2013 Posted April 26, 2013 The car would be cheaper in the long run. Actually, I'm not so sure about that.
Ace-Garageguy Posted April 26, 2013 Posted April 26, 2013 (edited) How 'bout by the hour? Edited April 26, 2013 by Ace-Garageguy

Ridge Rider Posted April 27, 2013 Posted April 27, 2013 That's a far cry from Bob Barkers day. Pinto, Chevette, Citation and other similar cars.

sjordan2 Posted April 27, 2013 Posted April 27, 2013 (edited) Image the taxes due on that? Yup. Windfall gift taxes on game show winnings include at least state sales taxes and can range up to 50% or more. Fortunately, most shows offer a cash substitute. Edited April 27, 2013 by sjordan2
mikemodeler Posted April 28, 2013 Posted April 28, 2013 Yup. Windfall gift taxes on game show winnings include at least state sales taxes and can range up to 50% or more. Fortunately, most shows offer a cash substitute. Considering those shows are done in California, i would imagine very few people actually end up with the cars as they are taxed by California. Not sure but I think you have to take delivery of the car there, you cannot live in New York and get your vehicle locally, also contributing to the cost of the prize.
gtx6970 Posted April 29, 2013 Posted April 29, 2013 The car would be cheaper in the long run. Both would be kind of fun for a long weekend, but I wouldn't want the upkeep of either over the long term
