rmvw guy Posted May 20, 2013 Posted May 20, 2013 Nice looking Blue Bug. People my age use to see these everywhere. I've owned six Beetles, currently have a '70 Bug. Every time I see a model like your's I want to build another.
Chris White Posted May 20, 2013 Posted May 20, 2013 Bugs are cool, needs a hemi ???? just kidding , nice work
Greg Myers Posted May 20, 2013 Posted May 20, 2013 Very nice little . . . Blue . . . Beetle! No, no, no, Dan, this is the Blue Beetle
Ace-Garageguy Posted May 20, 2013 Posted May 20, 2013 Always loved Bugs, owned a few, always make me smile. Nice build.
Greg Myers Posted May 20, 2013 Posted May 20, 2013 All that talkin' an' lookin' I didn't realize that was yours Johnathan. Great build, clean. Nice to see it isn't accessory laden like so many. Six years growing up in Europe, I don't recall ever seeing VW's with a car top carrier.
TooOld Posted May 20, 2013 Posted May 20, 2013 That's a real beauty ! I missed most of your WIP , I'm going to go back and take a look .
bbowser Posted May 20, 2013 Posted May 20, 2013 Very nice. You could buy a brand new Beetle when I was in high school for $1,800, and many did!
signguy2108 Posted May 21, 2013 Posted May 21, 2013 Cool little bug.Great job. I had a '53 in high school, had the funny turn signals that popped out of the door post, 36 hp (my riding lawn mower has almost as much now). I could put $2 worth of gas in it and drive for a month!
majel Posted May 21, 2013 Posted May 21, 2013 Nice looking Bug!! Love the Tamiya Beetles, they go together like a dream and you did a great looking job on yours.
smellyfatdude Posted May 21, 2013 Posted May 21, 2013 Thank you for posting this! The site of your Beetle gave me a serious flashback, and I felt like a kid again, remembering for a moment the days when you took the sight of these cars on the road for granted. I'm just going to have to get me one of these!
