outragis Posted June 21, 2013 Posted June 21, 2013 I have a boat and several 63 glue bombs...looks doable!
Quick GMC Posted June 21, 2013 Posted June 21, 2013 http://www.motostash.com/node/344 check out the interior at the end of this vid http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E5Td-b7jbU0
PappyD340 Posted June 21, 2013 Posted June 21, 2013 I think you should go for it Eric, Looks like it would be a killer project for sure, clever idea!!
Ace-Garageguy Posted June 21, 2013 Posted June 21, 2013 (edited) Might be good to give credit to the actual designer......Bo Zolland....a very well known automotive stylist. Edited June 21, 2013 by Ace-Garageguy
Tom Geiger Posted June 21, 2013 Posted June 21, 2013 You can see it has the design and essence of the Corvette, but the actual proportions may be way off. For instance, everything from the rear window backward looks to be widened and elongated. It may be tough to build from kit parts.
outragis Posted June 21, 2013 Author Posted June 21, 2013 yea, but i think i could build my own version, it would take that design as a example and build from there,
mr moto Posted June 21, 2013 Posted June 21, 2013 That's one of the coolest things I've seen! It's probably harder to build than it looks if you try to duplicate it exactly but it could be the inspiration for a really cool build even if you take a few liberties.
Gramps2u Posted June 21, 2013 Posted June 21, 2013 And why haven't we seen any progress pictures yet? Very cool Cant wait to see the results!
Eshaver Posted June 21, 2013 Posted June 21, 2013 And why haven't we seen any progress pictures yet? Very cool Cant wait to see the results! I'm with Bob- Gramps on this one ! By all means it's buildable . Shoot, some careful measuring should net a decent model. I wouldn't even try to use parts of a Corvette kit . The dimensions would be so far off, it would never be right . No, get the sheet plastic out , a can of Bondo and have at it !
sjordan2 Posted June 21, 2013 Posted June 21, 2013 (edited) Looks very doable to me, though you might want to work with one of the large-scale Corvette kits. Marine-grade Corvette engines were provided as inboard power by Mercury Marine for a number of boat brands like Sea Ray, and Malibu Boats produced the Malibu Corvette for several years. http://hooniverse.com/2010/09/27/hooniverse-motorboat-monday-the-malibu-boats-corvette/ Edited June 21, 2013 by sjordan2
Lunajammer Posted June 21, 2013 Posted June 21, 2013 Looks like a mid-engine hull so the Hemi Hydro would sure be a good foundation. Might have to fabricate the top deck but I'll bet you could glean a lot of plastic shaping tips from member Kennb and his scratch build threads.

That is what I have is a Hemi hydro One thing I think that boat is 27' I could make mine scaled to 19-20 and the vet kit would work I'll look into it tonight
outragis Posted June 21, 2013 Author Posted June 21, 2013 this one was bought by a guy here in Vermont Vette boat He also bought the Mercedes boat
Eshaver Posted June 21, 2013 Posted June 21, 2013 Eric , was this person in the advertising agency that designed the slogan , "We build excitement " when Pontiac was still a viable company ?
outragis Posted June 22, 2013 Author Posted June 22, 2013 Eric , was this person in the advertising agency that designed the slogan , "We build excitement " when Pontiac was still a viable company ? I don't think so, He is a car dealer/land owner/developer Bruce Barry
robertw Posted June 22, 2013 Posted June 22, 2013 I like it. Doing a Corvette themed boat has long been on my list of projects for the future.
