Hey guys, well I managed to get myself out of my building slump as Id hoped with this one. Ive always had the opinion that the 57 Chev was one of the most perfectly styled cars ever so the challenge I set myself was to build one as a tasteful but not overdone custom so I figured the best way to do that was to use GM styling cues from the same year. The Buick influence is obvious, the dash instruments are 57 9Olds steering wheel is 59 Caddy. I used two cheap diecast 57Corvettes to make the big toothy grin and the wheels are also from the Vette. The colours are brilliant blue and bright silver, I i really wanted ultramarine blue but had no luck finding any. Hope you guys like it. Cheers. post-5297-0-60969500-1374105569_thumb.jppost-5297-0-57230500-1374105594_thumb.jppost-5297-0-42134700-1374105657_thumb.jppost-5297-0-39206000-1374105685_thumb.jppost-5297-0-14367000-1374105710_thumb.jp

Beautiful job on this. Love all the different touches you did to it, just flows nicely. Nice touch with those rims, now I'm gonna be on the hunt for a set. Could you lmk what year they are? Thanks. Keep up the nice work, I like your style.

Thanks for your comment Jason. The wheels were from a cheap Welly brand 57 Vette I bought from Kmart. I painted the whitewalls and gave the hubcaps a blackwash with some thinners because the chrome was so bright there was no definition in them.

WOW!! That is very nice. I am waiting for the 1:25 scale convertible to hit the shelves. I might actually build one. I did master some bucket seats out of the seats from the pro shop kit. I was going to put four seats in with a full length console. If I ever get rich I might have a real one built.
